Where have all the cures gone? We used to think that insulin was the cure for diabetes, but now we know better. We used to cure infections with antibiotics, but now we’re not so sure it’s a good idea to medicate every infection. We used to cure warts with the strangest things, but now warts appear to be incurable. Are we losing the fight against disease?

(Earl Garcia) Perfume magnate Jo Malone has a sense of smell so acute she can detect cancer like trained sniffing dogs, according to researchers at the Medical Detection Dogs in Milton Keynes, U.K. Malone, 53, discovered that she too can detect illnesses by detecting subtle changes in the body’s scent. The scent industry giant underwent a test at the charity center last year to determine the accuracy of her olfactory sense. The center, which specializes in training dogs to sniff out illnesses, asked Malone to smell five pots and identify one that contains tiny doses of amyl acetate diluted in mineral oil.

The finding, which was part of an investigation made by researchers from Duke-NUS Medical School and the National University of Singapore, together with the Duke University School of Medicine and the Medical University of Vienna, is part of a unique approach explaining how reducing sugar can cause cancer cells to die.
(S.D. Wells) One in every three Americans will “contract” some form of cancer in their lifetime, and only about 50 percent will survive that attack. Those are some grim statistics, huh? Now get this: Has any doctor reviewed with you or your loved ones the odds of chemotherapy actually working, or what the statistics are for Americans getting killed by the now infamous chemical medicine that’s supposedly “designed” to kill the cancer?
(Earl Garcia) Half of American women who undergo bilateral mastectomy after genetic testing for breast cancer do not carry cancer-causing genes at all, a study revealed. The number of women undergoing preventive mastectomy reached exponential proportions following Angelina Jolie’s highly-publicized decision to remove both of her breasts in 2013. According to health professionals, millions have already taken genetic testing. Surgeons have also noticed an uptick in women with newly-diagnosed breast cancer who proceed with mastectomy following genetic testing.

(Isabelle Z.) Cancer remains one of the trickiest medical conditions to treat, with no clear solution or completely effective treatment. Because it strikes so many people, it has also been the subject of countless studies. In this huge body of research, some foods have been repeatedly identified as being effective at killing cancer stem cells.

(Alanna Ketler) Back in 2013, the Center for Environmental Health released test results which uncovered that Pepsi had purposefully covered up high levels of 4-MeI in it’s products. The soft drink giant denied both the presence of this chemical in it’s beverages and the fact that it was dangerous. 4-MeI, short for 4-Methylimidazole is a compound that comes from the “caramel colouring” and is a known carcinogen.
(Isabelle Z.) The concept of cell tower radiation causing cancer used to be tinfoil hat territory – or at least that’s what those with vested interests in the technology wanted people to think. Now, however, the body of scientific evidence indicating that cell tower radiation can cause cancer is growing too big to ignore.
