(Paul Krause) Have the Marxists won, even though the Soviet Union lost? America’s moral courage in confronting the “evil empire” was a truly heroic act; but in the aftermath of the Soviet bloc’s dissolution and America’s unrestrained bid for liberal hegemony over the world, we let our guard down. Not to external foes, but to internal ones.

Off to a Bad START: Putin Schools Biden with One Phone Call
(Lynn Corum) According to Russian news service Ria Novosti, on Tuesday, the presidents of the Russian Federation and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden, held a telephone conversation. During the conversation, Biden and Putin agreed to a five-year extension of START-3, until 2026, “100% on Russian terms, without additions, in the form in which it was originally signed.” As a result of the call, the authorized Duma committees were ordered to urgently take the necessary steps to extend START-3. On that same day, Putin submitted to the State Duma a bill on the ratification of START-3 through 2026; it immediately passed. Putin’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov enthused that “START-3 is being extended on Russian terms, for 5 years, without any conditions or additional requirements, without attempts to change the START verification regime, without those, in our view, absurd and unacceptable aspirations of the previous administration to make sure to draw the PRC [China] into this process without fail.”
The Griggs Decision and Affirmative Action
(Nicholas J. Kaster) Griggs v. Duke Power Co. does not have the name recognition of Roe v. Wade or Brown v. Board of Education, but it is nonetheless one of the most consequential decisions ever rendered by the U.S. Supreme Court. As we approach the 50th anniversary of the case, which was handed down on March 8, 1971, it is worth reflecting on its impact — first, in moving American racial policy from civil rights to affirmative action and second, in its unintended effect of increasing the demand for college degrees and thus raising the cost of and dependence on university education.
Must Christians Submit to Evil Authorities?
(H. Gordon Smith III) What is a Christian’s responsibility to submit to governmental authority when laws and regulations are in conflict with a Christian’s belief?
How and Why Joe Biden Opposes Patriotic Education
(Eileen F. Toplansky) Of all the executive orders that newly elected Joe Biden swiftly enacted, nothing is more indicative of his anti-American animus and radical left-wing influence than his revoking Trump’s “1776 Commission” to promote “patriotic education.”
Election Fraud? REMEMBER: Many Conspiracies Arise from a Rational Foundation
(Jocelynn Cordes) A long time ago there was a guy who donned a tinfoil hat. It was a risky move professionally, but he was an ornery sort who enjoyed rocking the boat every now and again, upending received “wisdom” and then sitting back to watch the fallout.
The True ‘Citadel of Democracy’ Is Not the Capitol. It’s You.
(Peter Nichols) It would have been unremarkable had the events of January 6 had been called simply a lawless and disturbing spectacle — an intrusion into the chambers of Congress by a mob with violent loss of life. That, however, would not have served the political ambitions of those inwardly rejoicing at the event. They called it instead an insurrection and an attack on the “citadel of democracy.” Now they use it to justify what seems to be a program of political repression, still in its incipiency.
Real Solutions to the College Debt Crisis
(Larry Alton) Regardless of where you fall on the political spectrum, it’s clear that we’re in the midst of a critical college debt crisis. The average college graduate now enters the workforce with the burden of more than $30,000 in debt, with some outliers leaving with $100,000 or more.
Our Overlords Should Not Expect an Easy Populace to Rule
(J.B. Shurk) There is a suffocating feeling of dread in the air — a palpable fear among many Americans that freedom is on its way out. I truly get that. State and corporate authoritarianism has taken over. Little fascists patrol the public square looking for dissent to whatever contrived politically correct nonsense the cultural Marxists conjure up next. Members of Congress malign those who don’t submit to the left’s delusions as Hitler clones reborn, while the news media and tech behemoths goose-step right behind our Big Government overlords, finding new ways to demonize ordinary Americans who want nothing more than just to be left alone. And too many Republican Party officeholders (who were elected to fight the good fight) have hidden under their desks while the socialist monster grew, sprinted in the opposite direction far from the fields of battle, or already submitted their résumés and bona fides to the new Soviet class taking over.
You Know There Was Industrial-Scale Election Fraud. What Can Be Done?
(Jay Valentine) Don’t believe your lyin’ eyes, and certainly do not believe the scores of fellow citizens who, under oath, signed affidavits and testified about the fraud those lying eyes witnessed.
Democrats’ Version of Unity Means ‘Us against Them’
(Shama Tobin) Crooked politicians like to divide people, because they thrive on division. Even when they try hard to utter “unity,” it is as fake as the mainstream media. When they have two propositions in a sentence, you need only to focus on their second one. That’s all that matters.
How Health Care Works in America, and Why It’s So Bad
(Keith Jackson, MD) We all know in our hearts that a well functioning society should reward intelligence and hard work. This runs counter to the thinking of those who consider this concept aggressively hurtful to the stupid and lazy, but it is something we know should be true. Merit should matter. Similarly, we know that well functioning medical care should reward good care of the sick and the intelligent pursuit of seeking even better outcomes. Many things are working against merit-based reward in health care, however.
The GameStop Saga: The Retail Investors Strike Back
(William Sullivan) Hedge fund managers are currently learning a lesson the hard way. As reported by Reuters, hedge fund Melvin Capital Management “suffered heavy losses by betting against video game retailer GameStop.”
Biden’s LGBT Agenda: Pedophilia Coming Down the Pike?
(Amy Contrada) The Biden regime’s January 20 executive order demanding “equal treatment under the law, no matter [one’s] gender identity or sexual orientation” is just the first salvo in the next wave pushing “LGBT rights.” The order will soon be backed by federal law, via the pending LGBT “Equality Act.”
The Teachers Unions vs. COVID Microschooling
(Daryl James and Erica Smith) Every Thursday morning, Arizona parent Marta Mac Ban dresses her six-year-old daughter in khaki shorts and a navy blue shirt and takes her to a neighbor’s house to study with other children. Participants recite the Pledge of Allegiance, review the calendar and collaborate on enrichment activities. Other days during the week, Mac Ban teaches her daughter at home.
