Valentine’s Day Celebrating the Occult Roman-tic | Origins and History of Valentine’s Day

Saturday, February 14, 2015 By Justin Deschamps Leave a Comment

Spread the love

It’s that special time of year again, when we it is socially acceptable to dote over our loved ones with chocolates, give cards and flowers. The idea of Romance has become a central archetype on earth, molding behaviours of the masses as this thought form has been poured out onto all of humanity via movies, media and advertising.

Is there a difference between true love and romantic love? I contest there is.

The Roman-tic love of contemporary time is defined as monogamous and self sacrificial. The modus of love expressed in films and tv (which is where most people get their definition of love) is that of giving up one’s personal desires and pursuits to make another happy. To deny the self for the worship of another. Of course not every relationship expresses this idea, but many do, and what this leads to is a sense of personal dissatisfaction as we foolishly try and make another be the sole source of our happiness. The divorce rate of 50% in the United States suggests many relationships start off in a ‘fantasy land’ of happiness only to end in tragedy due to resentment and frustration.

In contrast, there are many relationships which embrace the self and the other in what I would call true or soul love. Here we have echoed many of the concepts of mysticism and tantra, that relationships are a venue for you to explore yourself in relation to another, and through seeing yourself more clearly, you create a love which transcends all the normal limitations of romance. Here a couple can break up, cheat on each other and go through untold tragedy after tragedy, always emerging from the experience with a deeper more profound connection to themselves and the other.

Roman-tic love attempts to keep the idea of self the same (egocentric), forcing another to ‘change for me.’ True love comes about through a realization that change in life and especially in relationships is inevitable. Instead of trying to force another to ‘be this way for me’ we seek to discover ourselves and dance the dance of self exploration with another; twin flames uniting.

As Carl Jung profoundly stated:

“The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed.” ― C.G. Jung

The following is the history of Valentine’s day as described by several researchers. Some of this data is passed through the filters of Christian dogma, and as such discusses concepts of satan tempting christians to do evil. I suggest absorbing the raw data without necessarily accepting the conclusions offered as absolutely valid.

This Valentine’s Day, you may find yourself sharing a romantic dinner with your loved one. The moon and stars gazing upon you both (or maybe not if you live in England); it is a perfect romantic setting any other day of the week, but this is February 14th. Both men and women try harder to be extra sentimental on Valentine’s Day.

The ancient Romans would completely disapprove of this method of celebration. After all, you must give thanks to the pagan Romans for giving us the real origins of Valentine’s Day.

Do you know how they celebrated this “romance” holiday? Close your eyes and picture naked Roman men chasing after women – and whipping them with raw goat and dog skins. From February 13 – 15, the Romans celebrated Valentine’s Day in this fashion during the feast of Lupercalia – also known as the Wolf Festival.

According to tradition, the festival turned into a fertility rite celebration because of a female wolf who allowed Roman twins, Romulus and Remus, to suck on her nipples. The female wolf’s brothers officiated the festival asking for animal sacrifices of two goats and a dog. Why the whipping? The women believed getting whipped promoted fertility.

We must give Roman Emperor Claudius II credit for unwittingly giving us the name: Valentine’s Day. He killed two guys named Valentine on February 14 of different years in the 3rd century. The Catholic Church commemorated their death by naming the celebration Valentine’s Day.

ENTER POPE GELASIUS I

In A.D. 496, Pope Gelasius I got fed up with the Roman’s sinful festival and banned it altogether. However, he did not completely ban it. He merely combined the Catholic version of St. Valentine’s Day with the Roman’s Lupercalia. The bloody sacrifices stopped, but the whole fertility notion continued.

Apart from legend, the first affiliation between romance and February 14th goes back to Geoffrey Chaucer and William Shakespeare. Valentine’s Day was a hit throughout Great Britain and Europe. The holiday ultimately hit American soil, and thanks to Hallmark Cards in 1913, Valentine’s Day has skyrocketed in the money making department.

So there you have it. The hellish beginnings of Valentine’s Day in a nutshell.

c. February 14

Valentine’s Day – is a pagan festival that encourages love and physical lust.

It is celebrated precisely 13 days after Imbolg, thus imprinting upon it the number ’13’, Satan’s number of extreme rebellion. While most people view this day as the day to honor your wife or your lover, this celebration is steeped in paganism

Consider the camouflaged occult gods in Valentine’s Day:

1. Cupid, the son of Venus, is really Tammuz, son of Semiramis

2. Venus, daughter of Jupiter, is really Semiramis herself. Jupiter is the head deity, a sun god – Nimrod, Semiramis’ husband, is considered a sun god in the Babylonian Mysteries.

Listen to a pagan author describe February, the month in which Valentine’s Day falls.

“The name of this month comes from the Roman goddess Februa and St. Febronia (from Febris, the fever of love). She is the patroness of the passion of love … Her orgiastic rites are celebrated on 14 February – still observed as St. Valentine’s Day – when, in Roman times, young men would draw billets naming their female partners…

This is a time of clear vision into other worlds, expressed by festivals of purification. On 1 February is the celebration of the cross-quarter day, or fire festival (Imbolc) a purificatory festival. It is followed on the 2nd by its Christian counterpart, Candlemas, the purification of the Virgin Mary.” [“The Pagan Book of Days”, Nigel Pennick]

Valentine’s Day is a day of “orgiastic rites” in which the pagans encouraged the flow of lustful passion.

FEBRUARY 14TH: VALENTINE’S DAY

Set up 13 days after Imbolg is Valentine’s Day. Valentine’s Day is a Pagan festival that celebrates love and lust, and The Pagan Book of Days shows that the Roman goddess Februa is patroness of love and celebrated by the Romans through orgiastic rites. The holiday was originally set to honor Semiramis, Tammuz, and Nimrod (the first family of the occult). There was some relabeling of names along the way, including Semiramis transferring to Venus-the fertility moon goddess. The son, Tammuz, was identified as Cupid, and Nimrod (considered the father figure of this family) was relabeled as Jupiter (the Roman version of Zeus). Tammuz, aka Cupid, was known for shooting arrows at the heart, which was considered the seed for all emotions in the body at one time. The tradition of giving flowers and candy comes from the occult practice during this celebration when worshippers would bring spring flowers, candies, etc. to the temple for the spring goddess (Semiramis) who had been hibernating and is now beginning to awake.

THE TRUTH ABOUT ST. VALENTINE’S DAY
(What’s LOVE got to do with it?)
“God is love” 1st John 4:8

To the surprise of many, Valentine’s Day isn’t an innocent secular holiday; infact the true origins of Valentine’s day has it’s roots in the occult. Namely in the pagan worship of Baal, the sungod. The religion of Babylon (Baal worship) is the mother of most false religions and its influence is still felt world wide, including in today’s churches.

LUPERCALIA {the feast of Lupercus, the mighty wolf hunter}. The ancient Roman celebration of Lupercalia was held in honor of Lupercus, the deified great hunter of Rome.  This celebration also included worship of the goddess of fertility, Venus. In Roman mythology this goddess of fertility and sexual immortality, had a son called Cupid. Cupid was said to have attended to her and was given power to cause love to begin and to cease. This celebration was held from the 14th through the 15th of February. Some of the events of this pagan holiday included the choosing of partners by chance; in which teenaged girls would place their names into a box. The names were then drawn out by young men. The girl whose name was drawn then became the sexual partner with the man for the upcoming year; beginning in March during the Fertility rites of the Spring Equinox.

Rome’s Lupercalia more than likely began as part of the Babylonian festival of Oimbolc. Oimbolc celebrates mid-winter (the midpoint between the winter solstice and the spring equinox) and the return of the Sun. Beginning February 2nd candles were lit to welcome the sun and the women began their purification process for the upcoming fertility rites of spring. The Catholic Church also adobted this custom from Irish pagans who served the ‘goddess’ whom they called “Brigit”. The Roman Catholic Church now calls her Saint Brigit, the patron saint of smithcraft, poetry and healing. They now call Oimbolc, the “CandleMass”; in which they celebrate the end of the Virgin Mary’s Purification. Secular society keeps the traditon of ‘Groundhog’s day’ on the 2nd of February, where the presence of the Sun represents the continuance of winter for an aditional six weeks.

NIMROD (Baal) and ASHTORETH (Queen of Heaven). The Greek called Lupercus by the name of “Pan”, the Semites called Pan “Baal”. Baal which is mentioned several times in the bible, is merely another name for Nimrod “the mighty hunter” (Genesis 10:8-9). Nimrod was the original Lupercus, and we know that Nimrod was a mighty man who built great cities, including Babel (Genesis 10:10). Not only was Nimrod the ruler of Babel, but he was also the high priest of a satanic occult. When Nimrod finally died, the Babylonian mystery religion continued on through his wife, Queen Semiramis. Upon Nimrod’s death, she deified him as the Sungod. In various cultures he later became known as Baal, the Great Life Giver, the god of fire, Baalim, Bel, and Molech.

Later when Queen Semiramis gave birth to an illegitimate son, she claimed that he was Nimrod reborn, Nimrod Tammuz by name. She claimed that he was the promised seed of God (Genesis 3:15), the savior. Semiramis became the mediator between man and this “god”, you had to pray through her to reach him. So Nimrod was deified as the god of the sun,  Queen Semiramis became the Queen of Heaven, the goddess of the moon and fertility; and Nimrod Tammuz became the savior in this satanic babylonian religion.

Another name for Nimrod Tammuz was Cupid, which means Desire. Queen Semaramis lusted after her son, and soon they were married. As Nimrod Tammuz grew, the child “god”, became the hero of many women, who desired him. This cupid provoked so many women to jealousy that the idol of Tammuz was called the Idol “image” of Jealousy (Ezekiel 8:5,,8:14).  In the Babylonian tongue the word heart was pronounced “Bal”, In the depictions of Tammuz the heart shaped fruit of Persea was often found in his hand. Thus Tammuz became known as the god of the heart.

How did this pagan celebration become a christian tradition?  As with most non-biblical customs found in the church today, Lupercalia was simply given a christian sounding name and adopted into the “universal” Catholic Church. They done this to make it easy on the pagan converts who were coming into the new popular christiananity. These pagans were unwilling to give up their satanic rituals, so instead of putting an hault to the growing paganism of the church, the Romans took the approach of “Blend and incorporate”.

It was Pope Gelasius who in 496 A.D. changed Lupercalia to St. Valentine’s day. {The word Valentine comes from the latin word valentinus, a name derived from Valens, meaning: To be Mighty “strong”. The name Valentinus was very common in Rome.}  Pope Gelasius took the stories of several catholic “Valentines” and evolved them into one “Saint Valentine”. This so called ‘Saint Valentine’ has now become the patron saint of lovers in the Catholic faith and the prayers of troubled lovers are under his jurisdiction.

Conclusion: Lupercalia survives still today under the allias of “Valentine’s Day”; This pagan holiday  is still celebrated nearly world wide by christians and non-christians alike, and Nimrod Tammuz is still honored as the “god of the heart”; even prayers are directed to him by unsuspecting Catholics who foolishly call upon ‘Saint Valentine’.

But GOD says: Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou inquire not after their gods, saying, “How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.” Thou shalt not do so unto the Lord thy God: For every abomination to the Lord, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods. (Deuteronomy 12:30-31).

You can call a dog a dove but it’s still a dog. Changing the name of a pagan ritual doesn’t change the fact that it is still a pagan ritual.  2nd Corinthians 15-16, asks us, What concord (agreement) has Christ with Belial (Baal)? or What agreement hath the temple of God with idols? NONE friends, God is a jealous God, a Holy God, and he will not mix with devils. Many would rather keep this babylonian tradition than to keep the simple commandments of God. Jesus called the pharisees who kept the traditions over the commandments hypocrits and said they worshipped him in vain (Mark 7:6-9).

The whole world has been deceived by this false religion (Revelation 12:9); nations and churches alike are fallen captive to this Mystery Babylon (Revelation 17:5). I urge all of you to inquire about the traditions and customs that are handed down to you; discern them and see if they be of God or not. If they are not found in the bible, advoid them. God has said, “What thing I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.” (Deuteronomy 12:32). Just because the name sounds christian doesn’t mean it is; we have seen how easy it is to take something that is pure evil; and change the name and make it appear good.

2nd Corinthians 11:13-15, For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

2nd Corinthians 6:17-18, Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye seperate saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

What is our mission? Why do we post what we do?

Our mission here is to curate (share) articles and information that we feel is important for the evolution of consciousness. Most of that information is written or produced by other people and organizations, which means it does not represent our views or opinions as managing staff of Stillness in the Storm. Some of the content is written by one of our writers and is clearly marked accordingly. Just because we share a CNN story that speaks badly about the President doesn’t mean we’re promoting anti-POTUS views. We’re reporting on the fact as it was reported, and that this event is important for us to know so we can better contend with the challenges of gaining freedom and prosperity. Similarly, just because we share a pro/anti-[insert issue or topic] content, such as a pro-second amendment piece or an anti-military video doesn’t mean we endorse what is said. Again, information is shared on this site for the purpose of evolving consciousness. In our opinion, consciousness evolves through the process of accumulating knowledge of the truth and contemplating that knowledge to distill wisdom and improve life by discovering and incorporating holistic values. Thus, sharing information from many different sources, with many different perspectives is the best way to maximize evolution. What’s more, the mastery of mind and discernment doesn’t occur in a vacuum, it is much like the immune system, it needs regular exposure to new things to stay healthy and strong.
