So you have probably noticed things aren’t going so well on planet earth right now. Nothing and no-one remains untouched by our unprecedented global upheaval as it’s impact takes its toll on our feelings, thoughts, perspectives and experiences and much else besides.
It’s unequivocally all change and unfortunately, the destructive type.
When you unleash a Phoenix however, it’s natural that its devastation precedes any subsequent resurrection and that, I would propose, is the true reason behind the wholesale worldly chaos we’re all experiencing right now.
Imagine, however, the potential: all the planetary possibilities that could arise from said destruction, if we individually and collectively choose to step up and instigate a better way.
On a personal level, each of us has the power to choose our response to what’s going on and which perspective, version of truth, attitude and action we wish to adopt moving forward. If each of us simply decided to model, with integrity, the knowledge, skills and worldly wisdom that we’ve specifically acquired along our life paths, how easy and authentic would it be to create a world in which we all felt we belonged; a world in which we’d all love to live and felt inspired to nurture.
Sounds logical thus far, but here comes the big question… you knew it was coming. How on Earth is that possible?
As humans, as you’ve probably noticed, we’re not always primed to respond and take action and it seems that we fall broadly into one of four categories, a familiar concept to those of you who know something about psychology and how the mind works.
Those who feel powerless to affect any level of change, so don’t even consider it.
Those who feel powerless to affect change, but may nonetheless have thought about it.
Those who know they can affect change, but can’t be bothered; ie; it’s too much effort, so they leave it to someone else. And those who know they can affect change and actually feel sufficiently inspired to take action. In essence: the few!
If we wish to creating a tipping point with the purpose of ushering in a new global ‘operating’ system, a few, however, is all we need. It only takes about 7% of the world population to start thinking and behaving in the same way to affect global consciousness and generate massive transformative shifts for the whole of humanity.
A small, but increasingly bright light on the horizon of our current global destruction, (that providentially appears not to be a mega nuclear explosion), is the apparent growth in the number of individuals feeling called and willing to explore how they, as individuals, can make their difference in a field of endeavor that inspires them to step out of their comfort zone and live what’s important to them. Each person adding their own personal weight towards achieving that necessary tipping point, moving us closer to a more enlightened planetary state of consciousness.
And when we consider the state of the world today and assess the need to resurrect and reconstruct our failing societies and systems, I think we could say with absolute confidence that we would still welcome an awful lot more hero and heroine role models to wake up and make their own personal contribution right now.
Let’s consider, just for a moment, how many Dragons you have slain, how many insurmountable obstacles, barriers you have overcome, un-scalable walls and mountains you have climbed, indescribably difficult relationships survived, health issues, issues of injustice and financial disasters you have surmounted, and against all the odds
A few, several dozen, a hundred? More?
May I suggest that, the number of dragons that you’ve had to encounter and ‘put to rest’ represents the equivalent amount of immense knowledge and understanding, dare I call it wisdom, you alone are now qualified to share. There is no-one else on this planet who has undergone one of your unique experiences, let alone the full, assorted combination, so perfectly accumulated over time; they’ve now macerated nicely and have melded harmoniously together into your own individual special brew, whether you’re aware of it or not!

As a result, there is only you who is singularly qualified in the world, as a unique crisis overseer and dragon slayer, to do your ‘stuff’ and contribute your own ineffable contribution to the transformation the world is waiting for.
In your dragon slaying process, you automatically (although most likely unconsciously), acquired a specific combination of talents, knowledge and skills that became perfectly honed during your skirmishes and deathly deeds with the wide range and numbers of dragon species: their unforgiving qualities and brutal characteristics, their extreme thickness of skin and ferocity of teeth; all providing you with the terrifying encounters that you alone had to manage and overcome.
Since there appears to be no current advertised role for Dragon Master, you have to be marginally more creative in how you apply your skills and hard won talents.
Do not imagine, however, that there are not many absolutely desperate to acquire the very same skills you have now mastered; as there are hundreds, if not thousands of individuals who would benefit from your uniquely perfected understanding and knowledge hard won through your repeated exploits of dicing with these dangerous beasts.
Which brings me to my final question…

May I remind you that this is your personal bible: the contents of which have taken you decades of emotional and physical sweat and tears to compile and in which is clearly documented all the vital signs and clues needed to identify your personal gifts, together with your ‘Truth’ that you feel compelled to see expressed in the world.
It is within the much thumbed pages of your own critical Handbook that you will find everything you will ever want or need to know about your unique diplomas and death-defying credentials that you are now here to share with humanity.
Whilst openings might not be advertised, there will be hundreds of miles of zealous apprentices eagerly queuing to learn your own personal lessons of self-mastery, artful ways of managing yourself and others and contributing respectfully, thoughtfully and with innovation a new and better world over that you have perfected through trial and error and that you are now ready to teach.
As a result, many of us are now starting to reconsider what new structures we want to create in our world that work for everyone, as we step through the remnants of our old structures and pathways and feel inspired to dream of new, previously never-before-designed, yet positively respectful ways of living together. We seek to identify where best our uniquely honed knowledge and skills will serve a sensitively and respectfully re-constructed and re-imagined society that benefits all.
So please consult your Dragon Slayers’ Handbook and ask yourself, what knowledge have each of your dragons taught you that you can, in turn, share with others to help them overcome and slay their own personal set of dragons. What can you offer them that they desperately want to know? In this way you can uniquely support others to play a wiser, more respectful and transformative role in the new world we all have a part (and responsibility) in recreating.
