() Ray Epps, the “mystery man” who is implicated in the very launch of the Capitol riots, has denied being an FBI informant or agent before the partisan House committee on January 6.

As far as the mainstream media is concerned, they would just as soon wash their hands of the matter. “Case closed,” they say. “Time to move on. Nothing to see here!”
But for unknown reasons, Ray Epps is a free man. He is not only walking free while MAGA grandmas sit languishing in jail, awaiting trial on relatively minor charges, but he has inexplicably found defenders in the leftist press.
These are rabid Democrats who never met a Trump supporter they didn’t despise and wish evil upon simply for committing the thought crime of disagreeing with them.
But Ray Epps? No, one must not question his bizarre behavior on the night before and on the day of January 6 — behavior that got him called out in public for being a suspected “Fed.” Indeed, Trump supporters, of the kind that attended over 480 peaceful rallies with the former president, repeatedly called out Epps for his odd uninvited solicitations to storm the capitol building. Their reaction? It was to shun him.
But it turns out that Epps has his defenders, even among those with long track records in the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Indeed, none other than his own attorney.

“After graduating from law school in in 1975, [Ray Epps’ lawyer] embarked on a rewarding nine-year career as an FBI Agent with the U.S. Department of Justice commencing in Cleveland and thereafter transferring to Phoenix,” Darren J. Beattie of Revolver News reported. “[Ray Epps’ lawyer] has seen it all, his biggest asset is his relation with prosecutors and law enforcement in ways other lawyers cannot because of his background…”
This is quite the fascinating nugget. Why would an FBI-connected lawyer be representing Ray Epps, who is one of the pivotal provocateurs of the January 6 riots?
Far from this case being settled and it now being relegated to the media’s “forgotten box” conspicuously labeled, “right-wing conspiracy theories go here,” the Department of Justice refuses to comment on the simple question of whether or not FBI informants or agents were working the crowd at the capitol that day.
On January 11, Senator Ted Cruz ignited five-alarm fire bells in the establishment press with his questioning of FBI officials over the identity of Ray Epps.

Senator Cruz didn’t let up. Jill Sanborn, executive assistant director of the National Security Branch, would not confirm or deny it. “Sir, I cannot answer that question,” she said.

Kentucky Congressman Thomas Massie at a House hearing in October had grilled Attorney General Merrick Garland to his face about suspected fed involvement.

Attorney General Garland also declined to resolve the matter.
But Ray Epps has denied working with the feds to the partisan January 6 committee, we are told. No more questions! Wrong.
It is a blatant affront to the American public that a man who played a key role in igniting a riot that has been characterized by rabid Democrats as an attack on “democracy” tantamount to 9/11 and Pearl Harbor, escapes not only justice, but even escapes criticism in the establishment press.
Yet Epps, and several of his unidentified associates on January 6, were right in the midst of the action in the capitol riots, and provably acted as provocateurs. Simultaneously, Epps took special care to ensure that Capitol police officers didn’t get in harm’s way. How very thoughtful of a man who would otherwise be described by left-wing journalists as a “traitor” and a “seditionist.”
There is much to recount in a limited span about why the Epps case matters, but nonetheless, the following fact pattern is sufficient to sustain that there are serious questions that remain unresolved.
On January 5, in a video that has been widely viewed on Twitter, Epps can be heard saying: “I don’t even like to say it because I’ll be arrested. I’ll say it. We need to go into the Capitol.”
Strangely, Epps continues walking around the capitol on January 5th and 6th, butting into people’s conversations, and urging them to go in the Capitol, all while obtusely referring to “The Constitution.”
Ray Epps told The Arizona Republic in a brief telephone interview following the riots that he had traveled to the capitol, but he had been advised by an attorney not to speak about it.

On January 8, the FBI field office tweeted out a photo that included a man who appears to be Epps. It seems he can be seen in Photograph #16 at the bottom left of the tweet series.

In the video above, Epps is working with a clean-cut, athletic young man. We later learn that this man is Ryan Samsel, who was singled out in the Epps “breach team” for federal prosecution and prison persecution.
Ray Epps was thus among the very first people to instigate the January 6 riot. This is a fact and it can be traced back to New York Times reporting, as well as statements made by the Department of Justice. And yet, neither Epps nor several ‘unknown’ perpetrators whom he appears to coordinate with have been brought to justice. Or the Department of Justice, for that matter. Why?
“After months of research, Revolver’s investigative reporting team can now reveal that Ray Epps appears to be among the primary orchestrators of the very first breach of the Capitol’s police barricades at 12:50pm on January 6,” Revolved reported in October. “Epps appears to have led the ‘breach team’ that committed the very first illegal acts on that fateful day. What’s more, Epps and his ‘breach team’” did all their dirty work with 20 minutes still remaining in President Trump’s National Mall speech, and with the vast majority of Trump supporters still 30 minutes away from the Capitol.”
“Secondly, Revolver also determined, and will prove below, that the the FBI stealthily removed Ray Epps from its Capitol Violence Most Wanted List on July 1, just one day after Revolver exposed the inexplicable and puzzlesome FBI protection of known Epps associate and Oath Keepers leader Stewart Rhodes,” it continued. “July 1 was also just one day after separate New York Times report amplified a glaring, falsifiable lie about Epps’s role in the events of January 6.”
“Lastly, Ray Epps appears to have worked alongside several individuals — many of them suspiciously unindicted — to carry out a breach of the police barricades that induced a subsequent flood of unsuspecting MAGA protesters to unwittingly trespass on Capitol restricted grounds and place themselves in legal jeopardy,” the report added.
The federal government’s lack of transparency is only increasing distrust with the American people. That distrust will not be eased with partisan star chambers or legal veils of secrecy.
There are still roughly 14,000 hours of surveillance video that have not been released to the public, despite the FBI calling for help in purportedly finding suspects. These suspects would include Epps’ associates, as well as vital unsubs like the RNC and DNC pipebomb suspect.
One would think these imminent threats to national security would be given the highest priority. These are the dastardly villains who almost (the how is not explained) carried out a coup and overturned the government of the United States. We came this close to having a Q Anon dictatorship led by a failed actor in a Buffalo cap, the federal government assures us.
Instead, it’s really the MAGA tourists the Department of Justice seems to be fixated on for prosecution and persecution. It doesn’t add up.
If one does a tour of the FBI’s track record, one finds a number of examples of agents and informants provoking or entrapping right-wing extremist groups. There were the cases of the Michigan kidnapping plot and the Bundy ranch operation, which were cited by Revolver News.
It is not unreasonable to believe the FBI had also infiltrated three of the biggest right-wing groups in America ahead one of the most contentious dates in recent political memory. It is either negligence or complicity if they failed to infiltrate these groups and put a stop to their coordinated actions ahead of time. So, a real fact-finding mission would ascertain which is the best explanation.
Everyone knew it was coming. Nobody did a thing to stop it. You might forgive people for thinking that it could be even worse than that.
There is also the matter of Speaker Pelosi’s knowledge and potential role in orchestrating the security collapse on that date, particularly given there was intel weeks, if not months prior to the event.
This is all taking place within a backdrop of profound distrust between the public and the institutions that are supposed to represent its interests. The establishment press and Democratic Party may be quick to forget their roles in fabricating the Russia collusion hoax, but the American people didn’t forget.
Journalists exposed as having deceived the public for years, thereby undermining trust in the very same elections they suddenly feel so entitled to protect, might be expected to feel just the slightest twinge of guilt. Yet they actually gave themselves awards for carrying out their destructive ruse. That’s how big the disconnect is now.
So, given the justifiable distrust in the establishment press, as well as the behavior of D.C. politicians throughout the Trump years, one cannot blame people for being just a bit suspicious of the official narrative.
