To truly see the world, we must envision the reality that lies in the light behind the darkness of the veil. Many secrets of our veiled realities remain hidden within our very own languages, art and architecture. Almost every religion and secret society in existence today such as the Rosicrucians and Freemasons, have an innermost doctrine of truths which remain hidden from the masses who normally will not take the time to study or research this knowledge. The study of these hidden secrets is known as esotericism, and it is absolutely the only way to truly understand the truth about our world.
Most of the words we speak today have a dual meaning, or what some would call an esoteric meaning. In simple terms, the words we speak and know, often have a secret meaning unbeknownst to the average human. An outer explanation known to the masses of humanity taken at face value that is called the ‘exoteric,’ and a deeper hidden spiritual meaning called ‘esoteric’ that is the truth understood only by a small group of illuminated humans who have been initiated into the secret mysteries.
Even the very word esoteric has a secret truth hidden in its very letters. The English word esoteric is derived from the Latin esotericus, which came from the Greek esōterikos, or esōterō. It is a compound word composed of the two words, eso and teric. Eso is from the Latin eisō, and Greek esō which simply means within, and teric is derived from the word tauric, or taurus.
Taurus is Latin for bull, and in mythology was represented as Zeus who is just the mythological esoteric figure who represents the planet Jupiter. It is said that Taurus was one of the first constellations to be named and that was given the bull as the zodiacal sign, which during the vernal equinox in Taurus with the sun in this constellation, indicated the return of spring. The time of year that brings new life to the earth. The sun in Taurus has been an object of worship by many ancient cultures that was often symbolized as a Cherub, a bull with a human face. Henceforth, the Bull was used as the emblem of perpetual life and a symbol of immortality.
As Plato had said, “All learning is remembering.”
This is why true initiates and the world’s most famous philosophers are considered immortal. These illuminated brothers spend most of their lives in the study of philosophy as philosophers. A word meaning the lover (philo) of wisdom (Sophia). They are masters who dedicate their souls to understanding and explaining the innermost secrets of our world that is known as esotericism.
An example of an esoteric word, would be the word for ‘glory’ in the original language of the New Testament which is derived from a verb that means “to think.” To give glory to something or God, is to think and use your mind.
Likewise, the exoteric word ‘grace’ also has an esoteric signification in the Kabbala which is a word that means hidden wisdom, and the word grace signifies “occult spiritual wisdom.” This is why it is said, “By grace ye are saved.” Hence, to give glory in the esoteric is to think, and to receive grace is to obtain spiritual wisdom, in which the Kabbala is used for occult spiritual wisdom.
In order to find truth we have to give glory to the light, for the word glory is a verb which means to think. We also have to go one step beyond thinking about these words by giving them grace; that in the Kabbala signifies spiritual wisdom of the occult which is a word that means hidden. When we combine this with a true heart of love that has no ulterior material motives, we then become illuminated or enlightened beings initiated into the secret mysteries of our universe.
This my Brothers and Sisters is the basis of esotericism…
