Numerous examples have been written about or cried over since the last election. It didn’t start there, though.
COVID and the Semmelweis Reflex
(Robert Jones) As recent as the mid-1800s, five women in 1,000 died in deliveries performed by midwives. On the other hand, when physicians performed deliveries, the death rate was often 10 to 20 times greater. This was because physicians often began their day performing autopsies with bare hands and then, without washing their hands, examined pregnant women and delivered babies. Midwives, on the other hand, did not perform autopsies. These physician-caused deaths were due to puerperal fever, a horrendous way to die characterized by high fevers, painful abscesses, and a tortured decline into a nightmare of irreversible sepsis.
Whenever You Disagree with Liberals, You’re a Conspiracy Theorist
(Jeffrey Folks) The proper definition of “conspiracy theory” is the “false belief in a secret force influencing events.” Liberals used to say Nancy Reagan’s astrologist, Joan Quigley, directed American foreign policy by way of Nancy’s influence on the president — that charge was a good example of a conspiracy theory. If Joan Quigley was directing American foreign policy, she was actually doing a pretty good job of it: bringing down the Soviet Union and containing China, for example.
The Government Is Considering a Financial Weapon of Mass Destruction
(John Klar) Since the creation of the United States income tax, government and taxpayers have wrangled over definitions of what constitutes “income,” how it is to be calculated, and when it is to be “recognized” — that is, subjected to tax. A recent New York initiative (predictably backed by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez) would tax appreciated assets held by wealthy taxpayers before they were sold.
Was This All God’s Plan?
(A. Welderson) Let me be honest from the start of this. I’m not religious. I’m an agnostic. That is, I cannot say with any degree of certainty whether God exists or not. That would be any God, Christian, Muslim, or take your pick. My belief is much like a coin, flipped into the air to land, improbably, on edge and stand there. Just imagine the following scenario: President Joe spends an evening – actually, more like an afternoon — watching old classic films, one of which, perhaps, is a Cold War-era action movie about a Russian invasion. The American Police State Is Now Forming

Was it erected merely as a response to the horrible events of Jan. 6, and the fear of a right-wing uprising against the anti-Trump Democrats? Recently, this writer had a breakthrough and understood that this wall is actually an austere reminder that we have entered into a new phase of American history: the American police state.
The Equality Act: Big Government Playing Doctor, Badly
(Jay Tucker) The Equality Act, passed by the House of Representatives, purports to target discrimination against so-called transgenders. In reality, the bill, if enacted into law, will itself result in mass discrimination against children who consider themselves members of the opposite sex by unconstitutional, unlawful, and unethical denial of their rights, privileges, and protections. The rights, privileges, and protections eliminated or impeded are (1) the legal and ethical rights, privileges, and protections to which children and their parents are entitled within the doctor-patient relationship; (2) the legal rights and protections accruing to children and their parents related to obligations of medical professionals to secure informed consent to treatment; and (3) benefits to and protection of children arising from the constitutional rights of parents to supervise and control the education, up-bringing, and medical treatment of their children. (The bill is also wrongfully attempting to assert federal control over an alleged health care treatment, a right reserved to the states under the 10th Amendment.)
Hooray! The Government is Handing out Free Money
(Michael Busler) If you and your spouse had income of $150,000 or less last year, you are about to receive another windfall from the Federal government. It will be $5,600, counting the free money for your two kids, your wife and you. It doesn’t matter that you didn’t suffer any income loss this past year. The money is there for you to spend as you please.
Time to Review the 25th Amendment
(Charles Sullivan) It is no accident that Joe Biden has not given a State of the Union address or had a press conference since his inauguration. He is simply not mentally capable of doing either. I predict that Kamala Harris will become president of the United States before the end of the year, pursuant to the 25th Amendment. The amendment was ratified by the states in 1967. A review of its provisions is in order.
Figuring Out the Jordan Peterson Phenomenon

Peterson’s latest Beyond Order: 12 More Rules for Life is “Rule XI: Do Not Allow Yourself to Become Resentful, Deceitful, or Arrogant.” It contains the Sleeping Beauty story that you can read at Quillette. Sleeping Beauty, sleepwalking through college, is being pursued by the Evil Queen, her stepmother, who calls her up three times a day to tear a strip off her.
The January 6th ‘Insurrection’ that Wasn’t
(Ron Wright) The “attack” on the Capitol started well before then President Trump finished his speech at the rally at The Ellipse. This attack was no spontaneous event as alleged by Democrats, the Media, and the Radical Left. It is evident to any police officer who has been on a police line this attack was preplanned when coupled with the intelligence compiled by the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) and other agencies. From the videos, this is self-evident, e.g., coordination, tactics in engaging the police lines, hand signals, gas masks, bear spray, goggles, helmets, knee pads, improvised weapons, and milk to neutralize crowd control gasses.
Varieties of Legal Corruption
(Clarice Feldman) PJ Media’s Megan Fox has a very disturbing six-part series on alleged judicial corruption in St. Louis, Missouri. The first five detail how family court guardians and psychologists are misusing their positions to siphon off money from parents in custody disputes while the St. Louis judges ignore the fraud and collude with them, by, for example, ordering children’s visits with sexual molesters and/or otherwise abusive parents in order to compel the other parent to keep paying lawyers to appeal the decisions and change the arrangements. One might expect that bar examiners, judicial conduct boards, the state attorney general, the Department of Justice, the FBI, the IRS would register some interest in what appears to be appalling legal violations by officers of the court and the judges , but I don’t see anything happening yet to check these outrages.
