Interpretations: “Habitations have changed to increased refinement.” – A habitation is the process or state of living in a place or location—an environment. Alchemy is that process of improving or enhancing that which already exists within a thing, usually by a subtle process of changing environmental factors. For example, germinating a seed requires placing it in an environment where it’s innate potentials can be catalyzed into action. This usually requires moisture, sunlight and some kind of growing medium like soil. If these conditions are met, then the seed will germinate and spring into life. Living things in this sense, are like storms of organization within a less than organized environment; by this I mean, a seed takes the nutrients within soil, water in the area, and energy from the sun and reorganizes these things to produce a vehicle for expression, a body. But without the seed to impart these refinements on to the location, these potentials within the environment may never become active. The general inference with this statement seems to be in relation to this property of life and living things—aspects of consciousness and properties of spirit—to bring order to chaos, to generate or create refinements depending on the habitation. Given this, perhaps this statement is suggesting that environmental factors have changed which is facilitating an increase in organization or refinement—a higher state of order or harmony than what existed before. In this case, the habitations changed due to external factors, which in turn had an internal alchemizing or catalyzing effect on those things present within the environment. But there is another interpretation to consider.

As was mentioned, the term habitation is overtly referring to an environment, but perhaps this is a play on words for the term habit. A habit is a behavior that is ingrained or well established; something that is usually hard to give up. From a psychological perspective, a habit forms as a dynamic process of free will activation and impulse reinforcement. For example, when we encounter new things the conscious mind makes a comparison against that which we experienced before and assigns correlational judgments accordingly. If we felt cold in the past and feel a similar sensation in the present, the subconsciousness mind will assume the same response is applicable—we’ll label the sensation the same because it feels similar to something we encountered before. This is experienced as an impulse, and if acted on, then this behavior settles into the unconscious mind as a recently formed automatic program—a habit. Henceforth, the subconscious mind takes anything encountered in the future that matches the sensory signature of the stimulus and associates an automatic program with it. Eventually, the mind becomes filled with programs that we experience as impulses and proclivities that guide us to behave one way or another. In this sense, we really are creatures of habit, and so long as our conscious mind remains inactive, giving up these habits will be almost impossible. For those who lack this ability to reprogram their own minds, it seems as though all personal change is beyond reach, yet there are steps one can take to begin developing this essential skill.

Now this is important for our discussion because our behaviors are our contributions to the physical environment we exist in. Think of life as a universal tapestry of singing embodiments of the creator. What we do with our bodies and minds has a direct impact on what we create, what we bring forth into the world, which then becomes a part of someone else’s environment. Therefore, when we change our habits our environment changes (habitation) which then affects the individual. It is a reciprocal relationship, an expression of the As Above, So Below, As Within, So Without, principle. A second yet related interpretation is that the statement is referring to a change in our individual habits, which are becoming more refined, suggesting that evolution is taking place. This statement is also highlighting the universal principle of expression, which we can understand clearly using a musical analogy. Consider that if a choir were to attempt signing a piece without developing their skills as individuals, the final product will not be of good quality. But if they seek to refine their skills by practicing, changing their habits, when they do perform together, the piece of music will be of better quality. In a similar way, all creatures are contributing to the collective song of creation (the Uni-Verse), and therefore morality or the desire to honor the rights of others is not just a nice thought but actually feeds back to the individual as a positive environment—a beneficial habitat. 

The suggestion here is that what we do internally changes external conditions, and when we change external conditions our internal state of being is also changed—a reciprocal relationship. This means that in our efforts to evolve and grow, hopefully to service others, we must focus on both the internal and external worlds. If the environment is too intense of sensation we must move away from a stimulus to gain internal composure and balance. This is one of two methods for changing the alchemy of our beingness. The second is to change our internal state of being so as to receive and organize what is present externally in a productive way. Consider that to one without a spiritual practice life feels random and non-sensical, yet to one with spiritual insight, all things have a deep meaning. Refinement in this sense is referring to the goal or ideal of organization or coherence, that is to say, when our internal world is accurately a reflection of the external world, we call this feeling or knowing the truth. Therefore the goal for life, if we desire harmony, evolution, empowerment, and bliss, then we must reflect the truth within as accurately as possible, which stabilizes our beingness and provides an emotionally productive habitation. Hence, the truth shall set is free, if we are brave enough to follow it wherever it leads. 

“Labyrinths are fathomed and realized.” – A labyrinth is a complex series of connected passages or pathways intentionally designed to challenge one to escape or move through. In modern times, labyrinths have become mere games for children or wealthy despots but in times of old they were used as a form of symbolic initiation. The act of navigating and passing through a labyrinth imparts intelligence or wisdom to the initiate. The literal act of navigating through a maze is a symbol for the changes we face in life, which once conquered imparts wisdom. The term fathom refers to a unit length of six feet used to measure the depth of water and also refers to the act of penetrating a mystery or understanding something that was previously enigmatic. Therefore to fathom the labyrinth is to penetrate the initiation or wisdom that comes from passing through it. And going a step further, to realize this wisdom requires an action. We can read about riding a bicycle for years but only by riding one can we really experience that which we know. When knowledge moves from intellectual knowing to intuitive sensation (from head to heart), wisdom has been generated within. This statement seems to be highlighting the initiative mechanic of consciousness evolution, that the challenges of life always, without fail, have the power to impart wisdom, but only if we are brave enough to complete the labyrinth. In a grander sense, all of life is a labyrinth, and each new life is fraught with challenges and hurdles to overcome. But the creation is not a maze of pitfalls and trappings with no discernable purpose. Indeed the purpose of a labyrinth is to provide a venue for the individual to gain a boon, power or ability. And even though from our perspective in life, it feels as though this maze was pushed on to us, in truth, in order for a labyrinth to impart wisdom, the initiate must freely choose to enter. The only way out is through, just like the only way to conquer fear is to realize there is nothing to fear but fear itself. Therefore, no one (limited or selfish ego) gets out of here alive; meaning, in order to escape the maze of the 3D experience one must learn the art of conscious death, the release of the limited ego and the invocation of the higher self.

“Stereoscopic understandings open for all.” – The term stereoscopic refers to a point view that contains two signal sources. For example, our eyes are light sensors with two points of view generating slightly different signal sources to produce an image of depth within our perception. Implicit within the universe of space and time is the reality that the more one expands their point of view the more depth of clarity they gain, the Principles of Mentalism and Correspondence. Consider this principle within the context of seeking the truth about cures for cancer. If we focus only on one source of information, like the American Cancer Society, then we will most likely find information that tells us there are no cures for cancer. But if we research every possible source available, then we’ll find information that says curing cancer is most definitely possible. And in the act of seeking out all these sources, we will not only answer the original question, we’ll also discover that the idea of there being no cures is a conspiracy. In other words, the greater our field of view, the more depth of metaphysical sight we gain (understanding or knowledge). 

This statement seems to be discussing the concept of true discernment which is the act of seeking information that allows us to recognize a positive relationship; the act of coming to know the truth and how it relates to other true things. By this I mean, discernment is not only the process of judging if something is true or not (a yes or no answer), in order to truly discern something, we must know why. The phrase stereoscopic understandings is suggestive of this more in depth perception of reality, that we not only recognize that a thing is untrue, we also see the truth about it. For example, if someone said to us that the sky is purple we would probably think to ourselves that this is not true. But the reason we can make this judgment is because we know the sky is blue. Therefore, to truly understand what something is not, we must first know what it is, a stereoscopic understanding. This simple truth escapes most truth seekers in our world today, who tend to have a singular point of view when attempting to discern the truth about something, that is to say, many people simply say they don’t believe something to be true, yet lack the balancing perspective of knowing why. Often we say “it doesn’t resonate or feel true” which reveals that we are unsure and have not fathomed the depth of what is at play. This gut feeling or intuition can help guide us to a stereoscopic understanding but more due diligence is required. 

This statement seems to be suggesting that because of a change in habits or habitation we are more energetically supported by the universe, and this gives us energy and courage to follow the truth seeking or discernment process to its end—so as to escape the labyrinth of disempowerment and fear. And in our world of seemingly endless distractions, the temptation to develop an incomplete singular discernment process is great. But always we have the opportunity to enhance our perception of truth by gaining a field of view instead of relying on just one point of view.

“Immutables are grasped.” – The term immutable refers to something that cannot change or does not change over time. It has been said that everything in the universe experiences change, all things seem to be moving and swirling around each other and other things, so how can something be truly immutable. But there is a hidden or metaphysical side to the universe which requires a mind to lay claim to. Natural Law, the habits of the creator, are immutable because the creator acts with divine eternal purpose and conviction. By this I mean, the creator always does things the same way because that is the best way to do them, and these ways began before the time of beginings—a point in the eternal past before the creation of the time-space universe. But more simply put, there are two general governing mechanisms in the universe: Free Will, which is the random element, and Natural Law, which is the organizing or stabilizing element. When embodiments of consciousness act, whether atomic particles, molecules, microbes, plants, animals, humans, ascended masters, elementals, angels, galaxies, divine sons, and so on, the response or effect is always, without fail, governed by Natural Law. Therefore, the immutable aspect of the universe is Natural Law, the rules of creation. And these rules are forever expressed in the universe of time and space yet can only be understood from the metaphysical point of view of the mind. Only a mind can see the relationship inherent within to physical objects separated by space and time, and as such, the universe is a labyrinth for training the mind to perceive reality truthfully. Only a mind can understand that day and night are two polarizations of the same unified thing, a planet rotating around a sun.

It has also been said that life is a dream, and we are dreams within the dreamer. The creator, within this system of interpretation, is the ultimate dreamer, who gives life to ideas as free will beings within the mind of the ALL. But without absolute knowledge, absolute free will is impossible, therefore, in order to impart free will onto creatures that do not possess absolute knowledge, limiting factors were needed, which we experience as space, time and Natural Law. In other words, while we each have free will, it is governed or harmonized by the will or habits of the creator, which we experience as the laws of creation. Like the labyrinth has walls, barriers, and pitfalls so too does the creation have limitations and karma, elements of Natural Law that guide the creature into self-mastery. And once one grasps the laws of creation, they gain liberation from the limits of life in the process. Consider any game or pastime and their rules as a guide for directing participation. If we cheat the system, we won’t gain skills to become a better player. But if we embrace these limitations (rules) and train ourselves to develop skill within their boundaries, eventually we perform feats and accomplish greatness. A musician is an excellent example of this. If, in their early training, they rejected the rules of music creation, refusing to practice and gain skill, then their ability to play music is greatly limited. They may stumble through a few pieces but lack the wisdom to do much else. But if one embraces musical rules, and practices within their boundaries, then these rules cease to be seen as limitations and become guides for greater creative expression. 

In the same way, true law is always a guide for greater empowerment. Humanity has lost touch with these natural laws of creation, the rules of the game, and as such, we are very poor players. And from this disempowered and unskillful state some of us arrogantly deny that rules even exist (nihilism and solipsism) in an effort to invoke a sense of false accomplishment—we reject the creator and deny Natural Law. Our world is plagued by this mind virus of rejection, and the planet has been ravaged by our refusal as people to accept the truth and grasp the immutables of life. But thankfully, individuals are realizing the greater truth.

This statement and update seem to be a reference to the process of passing through the initiations of life (a labyrinth) so as to gain wisdom and empowerment as a result. And that in reality, there are no bystanders, we are either mastering ourselves and positively contributing to the habitations of others, or we refuse the truth and help to enslave our fellows. Consider that the matrix of control is populated by well-intentioned ignorant dupes who, through their singular perspective (oppose to stereoscopic), create chaos for themselves and all others. In this sense, while we need not force others to grow, we are lawfully bound to defend ourselves from their deleterious choices. A rubicon moment is fast approaching wherein those who choose truth will have to deal with those who do not. But thankfully we can defend ourselves from ignorance without also having to cause harm to our fellows still wandering aimlessly through the labyrinths of life. This is what becoming sovereign or self-mastered means, grasping the immutables and in the process gaining the wisdom to act harmoniously in a world of disharmony, working to help our fellows to pass through their personal initiations and become sovereign in their own right. In other words, to become sovereign or enlightened means to bring the stillness to a stormy situation, and to become an agent of positive coherent change for all life, everywhere.

He said that we could offer our insights into what they could mean and in doing so create a venue for deep discussion and consciousness exploration. There were many times I wasn’t sure if others found any value in these interpretations, but Julian and others continued to urge me on in this venture. This is just one example of the countless ways he helped me in my life path, for which I am eternally grateful. I want to dedicate these interpretations to him and his memory.
