The signs of Spiritual Awakening are everywhere, and one tool we can use to discern this with our experience, is to ask ourselves if our ‘awakening’ is reflective of an expansive truth.
For example, many times we think we have ‘reached the mountain top,’ finding a truth and feeling the liberation that comes from discovering it. This of course is ‘good feeling’ and as Dan Winter so aptly points out, physiologically our bodies are designed to let us know when we are in “heart space” or open mindedness, when we have an idea that is partially reflective of the truth. The truth must always be ‘shareable’ or inclusive, this is what creates the ‘good feeling’ conversely a truth we are trying to protect can cause us to feel bad, when the potential for expansion is offered. I say partially because the Truth is infinite and eternal, we can only gain fragments of it, always seeking to gain a grander understanding. This is experienced as curiosity when being exposed to new data and differing opinions, instead of defensiveness.
In opposition, if we feel our truth is complete, we tend to maintain an ‘absolute belief’ about it, and try and shelter ourselves from data and experience which causes this idea of truth to be questioned or possibly expanded upon. We literally feel ‘attacked’ by someone questioning our truth. This reveals our image of self is still grounded in unconscious beliefs and programs usually developed early on in life.
Spiritual Awakening tends to slowly heal our poor self image, and eventually we become open to the constant transformation of self – transcendence of the static ego – the universe is constantly offering to us.
One Final Note: Although our would-be masters have pushed untold horrors on humanity and do everything they can to maintain our ignorance, ultimately it is us who accept this offer; albeit unknowingly. As such, many of us have created limiting thought forms and beliefs, which settle into the unconscious. These can be made known to us by doing the ‘shadow work’ seeking to observe ourselves when we ‘feel bad’ about something, so as to gain an understanding of the thought that is associated to it, allowing us to expand and transmute it.
1. We question who we are
2. We question why we are here
3. Our lives turn upside down
4. We begin to experience synchronicities beyond coincidence
5. We lose a lot of people in our life and gain a few very important new relationships
6. We get rid of clutter and material possessions
7. We realize love is the basic building block
8. We become the calm during the storm
A shared goal of freedom
