As the paradigm concept is highly abstract and cross-disciplinary in nature, we will look at concrete definitions from the work of physicist-turned-philosopher-of-science Thomas Kuhn, how the term has developed over time, as well as how the scientific paradigm concept has been applied within the social sciences.
