The letter “D” may need to be added to the seemingly endless initialisms that accompany LGBTQI…..ETC. This new addition would stand for “de-transitioner.” More people regret sex change and want to ‘detransition,’ Dr. Miroslav Djordjevic, a leading genital reconstructive surgeon, says.
Nearly four years ago (2018), The Western Journal reported that Dr. Miroslav Djordjevic, a world-leading genital reconstructive surgeon, says he and other colleagues are seeing increasing numbers of those who have undergone sex-change surgery wanting to transition back. The 52-year-old Serbian said, “It can be a real disaster to hear these stories,” but he added their stories are not being heard.
“Those wishing the reversal, Djordjevic says, have spoken to him about crippling levels of depression following their transition and in some cases even contemplated suicide,” the British National Post reported.
According to the U.K. Daily Mail, Ritchie Herron, 35, a civil servant living in Newcastle, England, is one of the growing numbers of individuals who mistook a struggle with mental health for gender dysphoria. Four years ago, Herron underwent an irreversible vaginoplasty operation, which he claims to have regretted the moment he woke up from surgery.
During an interview published by the Daily Mail on Saturday, Herron said, “My first thought as I came round was ‘Oh God! What have I done?’”
Herron, who posts on Twitter under the handle TullipR, explains:

In addition to his emotional anguish, he told the newspaper that the simple act of emptying his bladder continues to be a painful, 10-minute process and his sex drive is nonexistent. He added that his crotch area is numb and “shell-shocked.”
Herron is currently in the process of suing the U.K.’s National Health Service for being fast-tracked by an NHS “gender clinic” into “making the biggest mistake of his life.” The Daily Mail reports that, in the last decade, referrals to gender clinics have surged by an alarming 1,700 percent, and most of these patients are children or young adults.
Herron said he had “suppressed his homosexuality” for decades and now realizes that his “confusion” was caused by his inability to accept he was gay.
Here is Herron discussing his situation in a YouTube interview in May:
Herron, who posts on Twitter under the handle TullipR, explains: Perhaps Gender Clinics are overwhelmed because we explained away puberty, social awkwardness, trauma, OCD, Same sex attraction, gender non conformity and autism in a neat all-inclusive package that comes with its own community, available online 24/7.

Tucker Carlson shared another example of transitional regret during his top-rated Fox News television show when he interviewed a 23-year-old former trans-identifying woman named Helena Kerschner, who de-transitioned after her transition surgery. Kerschner explained why she regrets her transition and why she decided to de-transition.
In the interview, Kerschner explained that when she was about 15, she started using the social media platform Tumblr. She had an eating disorder and saw messages on the platform saying, “if you feel bad about your body, that means you’re trans.” She felt that being a white, cisgender woman made her “uncool” and an “oppressor.” She felt incentivized to “figure out a way to make [her] voice heard,” so she started “playing around with the gender stuff.”
Kerschner told Carlson in their sit-down interview that she feels afraid for young people now that adult leadership is pushing for “gender-affirming” care. Townhall covered how Biden administration agencies released guidance on “Transgender Day of Visibility” that promoted this type of health care for minors.
“The White House just put out a chart yesterday that says that some of these steps are reversible, or partially reversible, but that’s such an oversimplification of the truth,” Kerschner said. “When you go on a cross-sex hormone, like, that’s going to give you not just physical changes but psychological experiences that you can’t just act like they never happened.”
She added that there are women she knows who are teenagers who’ve undergone a double mastectomy.
“There’s a lot of people out there, especially parents, who are really thankful for what I’m saying because they see that their young girl or their young boy is going through this. And the school is telling them, ‘you need to affirm them, they’re trans, you need to transition them,’ all their doctors are telling them, ‘you need to transition them,’ and these parents, they know that their child should not be having these cosmetic procedures,” she said.
Watch:
A former trans-identifying woman is speaking out to highlight how struggling with gender dysphoria is a lot like a mental health struggle, implying that parents and doctors should approach the issue accordingly.
Kerschner established and started the detransition support group called Pique Resilience Project, argued that kids and persons who have “comorbid mental health issues” such as depression and anxiety, self-harm, eating disorders, and more, should be treated “the same way we would treat any other young person who’s struggling with mental health issues” and be allowed to get help for their mental health issues.
Finally, TullipR tweeted this morning that we need a full-scale investigation into the effectiveness of “gender affirming” care, including surgery, hormones and puberty blockers.
