(Tom Pappert) Popular California-based fast food chain In-N-Out is refusing to check vaccine passports, and had its San Francisco location shut down as a result. Instead of complying with the local government’s vaccine passport system, In-N-Out said publicly that it would refuse to be the Democrats’ “vaccination police” as pawns forced to enact their policies.

According to a San Francisco TV station, the city’s Department of Public Health closed the In-N-Out location on October 14 because “employees were not properly checking for customers’ vaccination documentation” per a statement released by In-N-Out.
“We refuse to become the vaccination police for any government,” said In-N-Out Chief Legal & Business Officer Arnie Wensinger. “We fiercely disagree with any government dictate that forces a private company to discriminate against customers who choose to patronize their business.”
Wensinger added that “It is unreasonable, invasive, and unsafe to force our restaurant associates to segregate customers into those who may be served and those who may not, whether based on the documentation they carry, or any other reason.”
According to the TV station, perhaps most egregious is that the restaurant “properly posted signs of local vaccination requirements but refuses to strictly enforce them.” (READ MORE: Nancy Pelosi Flees Mass In Rome Due To Nearby Vaccine Passport Protest)
According to The San Francisco Chronicle, the Department of Public Health repeatedly asked In-N-Out to begin checking vaccine passport paperwork for every customer after receiving a complaint in September. The vaccine passport program has been in place since August.

When In-N-Out refused, “The business was instructed to cease all operations on site immediately because of the threat it poses to public health,” the Department of Public Health said in a statement. (READ MORE: New York Governor Candidate Andrew Guiliani Takes Stand Against Vaccine Passports)
Rather than subject customers to a vaccine passport requirement the restaurant has reopened but no longer offers indoor dining, and Wensinger confirmed to the publication that In-N-Out has no interest in checking vaccine passport paperwork for customers looking to order fast food.
