Stillness in the Storm Editor: Why did we post this?
Choosing what food to eat that matches the needs of the human organism is something of vital importance. While in the modern world, food choices seem to be largely subjective, there is a case to be made that some foods are objectively better or worse than others. Veganism claims that a plant-based diet is the best for all human beings, and presents a very good case for that. However, food choices are largely based on personal need and emotional mood regulation, making it difficult for the vast majority of the human population to choose health over personal comfort. One argument presented to undermine the vegan premise is that choosing this way of life results in nutrient deficiencies. However, as the preceding video demonstrates, most of these so-called deficiencies aren’t a concern. Matter of fact, a strong case can be made that vegan food choices offer superior nutrient compliment when compared to their non-vegan counterparts. This information is important because it exercises the mind insofar as food choices, which as was mentioned before, most people don’t think rationally about food, they think emotionally. As such, this emotional decision making process, which when divorced from logic causes much frustration in people’s lives, can be identified and addressed. The mastery of mind, body, and soul, can be explored through this subject.
