These people have lost their damn minds. If ever there was a doubt as to the mental state of Democrats and leftists in this country, you can now lay those doubts to rest.

ABC 4 News reported:

House Democrats have introduced a bill that would “prohibit the use of Federal funds for the commemoration of certain former Presidents, and for other purposes.”

Under House Bill 484, introduced by Democratic Representative Andre Carson of Indiana in late January, federal funds would not be allowed to be used to:

“Create or display any symbol, monument, or statue commemorating any former President that has been twice impeached by the House of Representatives on or before the date of enactment of this Act or has been convicted of a State or Federal crime relating to actions taken in an official capacity as President of the United States on Federal public land, including any highway, park, subway, Federal building, military installation, street, or other Federal property.”

The Washington Examiner had more details:

Conservatives slammed a bill proposed by House Democrats that would ban “twice impeached” presidents from being buried in Arlington National Cemetery.

“This is pathetic, even for you, House Democrats. I heard some of you went to law school. Ever heard of a bill of attainder?” lawyer Harmeet Dhillon tweeted in response to the proposed bill.

The bill’s sponsor, California Democratic Rep. Linda Sanchez, said that Trump’s rhetoric “encouraging racism” was behind the introduction of the legislation.

“For years, Donald Trump poured gasoline on lies, encouraging racism and hatred, then lit the match on January 6th. A president who has been impeached twice does not deserve the honors bestowed on a former president,” she said in a statement. “We should never glorify the hatred Donald Trump personified as President. This bill ensures that there is no glory for hate — not a building, statue, or even a park bench.”
