Trump Finally Admits He’s Responsible: “You Have to Take the Children Away”

() After weeks of evasions and outright lies aimed at avoiding responsibility for the torture he has inflicted upon immigrant families, President Donald Trump finally admitted in an off-the-rails speech on Tuesday that the thousands of family separations that have taken place on his watch are a direct consequence of his administration’s decision to prosecute parents who cross the U.S.-Mexico border illegally.

“When you prosecute the parents for coming in illegally—which should happen—you have to take the children away,” Trump said before the National Federation of Independent Business. “Now you don’t have to prosecute them, but then you’re not prosecuting them for coming in illegally. That’s not good.”

As Brianna Rennix of Current Affairs has noted, family separations are hardly an unintended result of the Trump administration’s so-called “zero-tolerance” policy, as the president suggested when he claimed in his speech that he doesn’t “want children taken away from parents.”

“The Trump administration’s decision to prosecute parents for illegal entry was taken in order to create an excuse to separate mothers from children” so they could keep the mothers detained, Rennix observed on Sunday in a detailed analysis of the White House’s immigration policies.

In addition to conceding that his administration’s policy shift is responsible for the thousands of family separations that have taken place over the past six weeks alone, Trump also threatened to cut off “funding” for Central American nations that “send” migrants to the United States and slammed the press for daring to publish photos and videos of children detained in cages.

“They are helping these smugglers and these traffickers like nobody would believe,” Trump said of the media, which has circulated photos released by his own government.

    When you commit a crime you go to jail, (cage) I’m so sick of all the finger pointing and blaming everyone but the right people. The blame isn’t ours to shoulder, it belongs squarely on the shoulders of the parents who bring the kids here, and on the kids who come without parents. When has anyone seen children with their parents in our jails?

    Let’s not forget the Bigger Picture here. Have you been paying attention to the Immigrant crisis throughout Europe? Facts are coming out now that show it’s the “Deep State” thats’s funding and enabling that situation by even going so far as giving allowances and fake passports to these so called immigrants as part of a bigger plan to create chaos and religious war there. In the US, we now know there is an Elite Pedophile network that’s involved in Human trafficking, as well as smuggling of drugs and weapons. Are you going to help stop this and the movement of criminals across the border? Let’s hear about your Great Plan to protect us.

    Jake if I could, I’d put you in a room with a computer and force you to research your writings until you could no longer deny the facts. This is a human trafficking problem, and your irrational attachment to your programming is putting lives at risk through disinformation. Trump is going after trafficking, and your “resistance” is helping some extremely evil people put off their day of reckoning. These kids ARE victims, but not of Trump. They are victims of the low life scum who are bringing them here to be sold. Last year 10k of the 12k kids detained were NOT with their parents. I really get upset when I see people like you on SITN. You belong on cabal controlled media, not here. Justin, please don’t let this kind of deep state programming ruin a site you have worked so hard to make a paragon of truth and alternative views.     This article is terribly biased; I can’t believe it is here on SITS. Here are the facts that this author doesn’t cover:

    a) This policy started under Obama when he created a loophole whereby children of illegal immigrants from noncontiguous countries could apply for asylum.
    b) Due to a 1997 law, the U.S. government can only hold children for twenty (20) days. Because the asylum process takes much longer than that, the U.S. taxpayer has to pay to find homes in foster care for the children while their asylum is being adjudicated.
    c) Many parents are now exploiting this loophole by purposefully crossing the border with children just to take advantage of the loophole. Or sometimes the parents just give the kids to a third party to bring here to the U.S. to apply for asylum.
    (d) IMHO, this is a plot by the Democrats to create lifetime democratic party voters and bilk the U.S. taxpayer.

    All this trumped up nonsense is just more of the non stop, 24/7, Trump is terrible crapola that CNN International puts out, and which other media outlets feed off of. Now that the Russian collusion story has gone down the tubes, the Deep State run media outlets just create another false narrative to take its place, and all the Leftist suckers are only too happy to roll on up and scream “What about the children?”

    We now know from the Horowitz report that the FBI worked actively to destroy the sanctity of our election process; why are the leftists screaming about that?
