Our 2nd Amendment rights were under attack when the people we elected to represent us realized it was our only real line of defense against the tyranny they desired. The elites could own the economic, education, and political systems but were stopped from obtaining the unlimited power they crave without physically controlling the nation.

This idea isn’t something new, and it is certainly not exclusive to modern-day political elites. The multiple rebellions throughout our nation’s history brought challenges to our 2nd Amendment. However, no attack is likened to the one that passed the House of Representatives today. The Democrats, along with eight Republicans, passed two bills. One would ban the ability to privately transfer firearms between lawfully able citizens without a background check. The second increases the wait time before a gun sale can be licensed.

The ATF website says, “An unlicensed individual may transfer a firearm to another unlicensed individual residing in the same State, provided that he or she has no reason to believe the buyer is prohibited by law from possessing firearms. Under Federal law, there is no recordkeeping requirement pertaining to the transfer of a firearm between two unlicensed individuals.”

The first bill now requires there to be a “recordkeeping requirement pertaining to the transfer of a firearm” as it now requires a federal background check for those purchasing weapons over the internet, at gun shows, and through certain private transactions. The federal government wants to know what guns you have, where you have them, and how many.

The second bill passed with full Democrat support, but this time only two Republican rats supported it. This bill is an attack on women by requiring that the authorities wait 10 business days for federal background checks to be completed before you can buy a gun. Right now, the government gives them a three-day waiting period.

You should be able to walk in and buy a gun with the same ease as you would a loaf of bread. This is what the founders intended, not the locked shelves and bureaucratic permission slips we have today. Our founding fathers wanted us to have the same ability to arm ourselves as our government. We don’t even come close to legally obtaining the same weaponry as the U.S. military. Our elitist overlords lulled us to sleep and voted away our rights.

This doesn’t protect against gun violence. These two bills will create more victims just of different crimes. This is corrupt Democrat logic in a nutshell to which eight Republicans said surely this is a good plan for American safety. In their minds, it’s smart to force the women fleeing spousal abuse to wait 10 days before having adequate protection. Three isn’t long enough, apparently.

Spare me the “call the cops” trope often used by the left. The abusive husband isn’t going to wait ten days for the background check to clear to ensure a fair fight. The average wait time for police response is over 10 minutes in some places. An angry person intent on doing harm can kill someone in less time than it would take for the officer to put their siren on. My gun in my bedside safe is a hell of a lot quicker than the squad car down the street.
