(Adam Sanchez) How can we best use this eclipse energy for both power and pleasure?

Today, November 19th, 2021, we have one of the longest, partial Lunar eclipses of our lifetime, which has a few themes this writing will summarize, and all of them relate strongly to power, pleasure, and our true purpose. Eclipses have effects that linger until their next cycle, setting up our collective energies for the following 6 months. Currently, we have the South Node of the Moon, which represents our collective karma, or previous actions, in the freedom-loving sign of Sagittarius and it’s natural opposite the North Node (symbol of our collective destiny) in the communicative sign of Gemini, bringing with it an important lesson of these times: Transmuting anger into communication of Inner and Higher-Truth. Another way to say this is that we can avoid great suffering and access great benefit from saying what we need to say, but from a place of owning our anger as ours, and using it to inform us of what we probably weren’t saying that let us get so frustrated from feeling (self) suppressed in the first place.
We now have the Sun, ruler of our conscious mind and Spirit, in the deep-water sign of suspicious Scorpio, opposing the Full Moon in tenacious Taurus, with the moon’s light being occulted by the Earth, eclipsing the Moon, giving a reset opportunity for our feelings. , of which the moon represents. This celestial event represents an outward manifestation of our internal, emotional experiences of reality, signifying an external opportunity to release emotions internally, and activate new levels and dimensions of experience regarding each of these eclipse energies. The squaring of the Sun to the planet of growth and excess Jupiter, can usually indicate that we may be subject to over-optimism and idealism, but with the presence of the Sun in serious Scorpio’s energy, it may even polarize to the opposite end of deep self-doubt and uncertainty, and feeling like we don’t have what it takes to overcome or make the contribution to the world that we feel burning in our soul.
Balancing the Extremes of Our Self
Either too much positivity can lead to unwarranted pride, and the fall that accompanies it, or too much negativity can lead us to dig ourselves so deep in a hole of our doubts, that rising back into our full self feels like a pipe dream. There could be a desire for extreme experiences at this time, that would only compromise our good fortune in the long run and would be best moderated, especially until the next Total Solar eclipse in Sagittarius, in two weeks. Admittedly, this is easier said than done in this climate, but wise given the potential pitfalls.

The squaring of the Moon in pleasure-seeking Taurus, to Jupiter in revolutionary Aquarius, can indicate a habit of apathy, self-indulgence, or settling for our comfort zone that requires new levels of self-discipline to break free of and achieve our goals. This opposition of both of these two luminaries squaring Jupiter is called a T-Square in astrology and is most often resolved by bringing in the unrepresented energy of the cross, which in this case is Leo, calling upon us to shine our light by expressing our true self throughout this process, even if we are also discovering or deciding exactly who that is as we go along.
Power Within, not Power Over Others
With the Sun making a trine to Neptune, planet of dreams and the Spiritual realms, (currently retrograding in Pisces) artistic, creative, and intuitive energies are being illuminated by this transit and eclipse, possibly removing false dreams or dissolving illusions that are holding us apart from the actual dreams our heart truly wants. The Sun is also sextile Pluto, planet of rebirth and ruler of Scorpio, giving us an opportunity to learn how to express our deepest, natural powers and abilities with harmony, grace, and support. The Sun is also conjunct Mercury, which can create a retrograde-like effect during eclipses, so holding off on any serious conclusions or life-altering decisions is recommended if possible, until after the next eclipse, when this energy subsides.
The Moon is trine Pluto this eclipse, giving us power through emotional fortitude, supporting a deep understanding of the motivations of ourselves and others. The Moon is also opposite the planet Mercury, ruler of the mental realm, and this aspect can make decision-making difficult, leaving us feeling pulled between our hearts and our heads. Balance, especially right now, is key, as more information will come through in two weeks after the total solar eclipse in Sagittarius (stay tuned for the upcoming article).
The Dynamics Between Self/Other and Inner/Outter Authority
Venus, planet of love, relating, and fairness is trine Uranus, planet of originality, leaving us with the potential for appreciating people for their individuality and connecting well with the unique contributions they bring to our shared experience. This is true particularly with those who are intuitive, inventive, and intellectually stimulating, encouraging us to see beyond our own expectations and limitations.
Mars, planet of drive and ambition is sextile Venus, blending the energies of masculinity and femininity, activity and receptivity, bringing synergy in the ways we relate to each other. Mars is also opposite Uranus, bringing dynamic, energetic, and unexpected potentials to the mix, so it’s best to measure out moderate doses of our energy over what is likely to be an electric and fiery two weeks. This energy can be fast-moving, so it is advised to slow down wherever possible and be cautious when needed, to avoid accidents or getting blindsided. But, if we are present and focused, we can make light-years worth of progress in a short amount of time.
Saturn, planet of responsibility and effort, is square to Uranus, nearly all of this year and into next, and of course included in this eclipse energy, emphasizing the experiences we need to learn how to overcome authority issues, by embracing our own capacities and seeing when compromise can be warranted and when it’s time to rise above/walk away. At this time, Saturn is sextile Chiron, the asteroid of the Wounded Healer, showing us that through facing emotional pain we can discover our own inner authority, accessing and claiming one of the deepest healings available to our collective at this time: Sovereignty through Self-mastery.
Pain Contrasting Pleasure
As children, we dream of growing up and expressing our fullest self, but we may not comprehend that the process to realize that dream will include some kind of growing pains and difficult life lessons. During every eclipse cycle, we are supported by celestial energies to grow, but that will still require certain challenges to be overcome. While beginner’s luck can sometimes make progress seem easy, and fun, the deepest satisfaction often comes when we are tested and tested again, until we feel a sense of certainty, borne of our experience, that we have the power to deliver and create what we want within our life, in the face of any obstacles. We gift ourselves this by fully accepting our true self and its authentic expression, including the gnarly and gritty parts with flaws that actually strengthen our gifts, when these are all embraced. There can be no greater pleasure than overcoming an ancient pain, especially when we can see that none of it was in vain, but that each and every drop of mistake and conflict teaches us to rise again and again and again. By feeling pleasure within our matured and respected power, we are poised to grow in love, and finally release our chains.

Stillness in the Storm Editor: Why did we post this?
Astrology is an ancient form of psychology coupled with theology, based on the assumption that your life path and personality is influenced by the positions of the stars. In modern times, this ancient school of thought has come under much scrutiny, and rightfully so, given it has been the bastion of charlatans and scam artists. But there appears to be something real at work. Epistemologically, if a body of claimed knowledge provides predicting power, if it’s useful and pragmatic, then it suggests there’s some truth to it. Astrology is also a taxonomy—an arbitrary system of organizing phenomena for ease of use and comprehension in human life. The preceding article discusses astrology, providing food for thought about subtle influences. This information is helpful to contemplate because it is a topic of subtle and holistic connections, which is a topic close to the concept of the Creator and a creation made for a purpose. Additionally, because astrology is difficult to prove objectively, yet provides valid objective descriptions of reality, it is an excellent subject to study to expand one’s thinking and exercises holistic philosophy skills. With the ability to recognize subtle interconnected realities, one has the power to gain much wisdom and even approach Creator-consciousness if one maintains an open mind and a critical discerning eye.
