(Dillon Forte) Sacred Geometry is a term coined to comprehend the mathematical laws that govern the structure of reality. It commands cells to divide, determines the radial patterns in a flower, and births symmetry. It’s been proven that the human brain registers symmetry as satisfying or beautiful. In scientific studies symmetrical faces were even concluded to be perceived as more attractive.

by Dillon Forte, March 19th, 2020
Perhaps in our seemingly chaotic world, our subconscious finds comfort in structure. This sense of comfort is possibly why so many religions utilize sacred geometry in their houses of worship and art. It is what makes Sacred Geometry “Sacred”. The idea that there is a plan. A blueprint.
This notion also opens the door to sacred geometry’s place in metaphysics.
Metaphysics
Metaphysics is defined as the branch of philosophy that examines the fundamental nature of reality, including the relationship between mind and matter, between substance and attribute, and between potentiality and actuality. Many believe that because sacred geometry is present in all things, it is the key to unlocking greater secrets of the universe. And that by conscious introspection, we can achieve external discovery. After all, there are only five shapes that make up our observable universe, the Platonic solids.
Platonic Solids
Named after the Ancient Greek mathematician and philosopher, Plato, the Platonic solids are the only perfect three-dimensional shapes that exist anywhere, and they are the basis of Plato’s famous “Theory of Everything”. These shapes are; the Tetrahedron, Octahedron, Icosahedron, Cube, and Dodecahedron.
What makes these shapes “perfect” is that the number of sides that comprises each face, is the same number of faces that construct the polyhedron. The cube for example, is comprised of four squares, each square being made up of four sides.
The Platonic solids have been studied for thousands of years (even prior to Plato), and have also long represented the five elements: earth, air, fire, water, and “God” or “universe”.
Cube: the representation of earth and nature.
Octahedron: the representation of air
Tetrahedron: the representation of fire
Icosahedron: the representation water
Dodecahedron: the representation of the universe
Practice
I have been tattooing sacred imagery for the past 13 years, each day further affirming the interconnectedness of all things and people. Have you ever noticed the veins in your body resemble the roots of a tree? Or that a spiral galaxy mirrors the nautilus shell? These anomalies are actually not anomalies at all. They are rules of geometry that reflect the golden ratio. When a line is divided into two parts and the longer part (a) divided by the smaller part (b) is equal to the sum of (a) + (b) divided by (a) = Phi
My fascination with geometry has been my greatest muse, with the human body as my primary canvas. I find that in tattooing, our natural symmetry in combination with sacred geometric imagery makes for a powerful and cohesive ascetic.
For many, tattoos are an outward representation of oneself and often hold a significance as individual as the person wearing them. One of my most requested designs are of custom-repeating geometric shapes and mandalas. Often times these designs are used to symbolize growth.
The word mandala means “circle” Sanskrit. It is a spiritual symbol found in both Hinduism and Buddhism traditions. Mandalas often hold two meanings. The first is a representation of the universe as a whole, with repeating patterns symbolizing eternal life and connectivity. The second is of the individual’s spiritual journey, with the soul forever learning, growing, and expanding.
My work is dedicated to the sacred geometric nature of existence. It is my belief that through geometry we can gain a greater awareness of the true meaning of life. From the microcosm to the macrocosm, there are mathematical relationships that underlie the fundamental structure of our universe. The purpose of this work is to illuminate these mysteries.
In conclusion, Sacred Geometry is not the pseudoscience it is made out to be. In fact it is simply science. Measurable, observable, and tangible. For more enlightenment on ideas on sacred geometry, I recommend reading the book The Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life, reading insightful articles via Gaia and of course reading more here on Wake up World.

Stillness in the Storm Editor: Why did we post this?
The news is important to all people because it is where we come to know new things about the world, which leads to the development of more life goals that lead to life wisdom. The news also serves as a social connection tool, as we tend to relate to those who know about and believe the things we do. With the power of an open truth-seeking mind in hand, the individual can grow wise and the collective can prosper.

Great article! I think one small part needs a lil review tho, the bit about the number of sides of the face. corresponding to the number of faces on the platonic solids. While the square has four sides it takes six squares to create the cube. A tetrahedron is made up of 3 sided triangles but it takes 4 of them to construct the tetrahedron. Octohedron: 4 sides, 8 faces. Icosahedron: 3 sides 20 faces. Dodecahedron :5 sides 12 faces . I think what defines them as “perfect” has more to do with the interior angles and the vertices. And each face is built from identical regular (perfect) polygons. I . mayy be misinterpreting the paragraph but i think its just a minor goofup. Loved the article tho and Dillon Forte you make incredible art, i follow your IG

Meant to say that the octohedron is 3 sides. Not 3. The tetrahedron, the octohedron, and the icosahedron are all made from equilateral triangles.
