by Michael Wright,
You might be thinking to yourself, ‘what are the benefits of phycocyanin and what is blue spirulina?’ In this article, we’ll discuss some of the impressive science that describes this cosmic-blue looking superfood.

Phycocyanin is a light-harvesting, pigment-binding protein found in different algae, including spirulina, that exhibits anti-oxidant, red blood cell building, immune building, liver-protecting and anti-cancer properties. When extracted, it shows off it’s brilliant blue color. While you will consume phycocyanin if you are using a spirulina product, it will be of a lesser quantity than taking it alone. As a side note, if you are using spirulina, make sure it is the one known as Hawaiian Spirulina, as this is the strongest, most nutrient dense spirulina in the world today. Their growing methods surpass organic standards and they’ve been the pioneer in spirulina products for decades.

Phycocyanin For Energy and Athletes
The benefits of phycocyanin for athletes and for boosting overall energy for everyday people is incredibly fascinating, due to it’s connection to erythropoetin (EPO). EPO is a hormone that is secreted by the kidney and is also produced in the liver, in response to cellular hypoxia. In other words, when cells have low oxygen content, the body is signaled to produce more EPO, which in turn stimulates bone marrow stem cell production of more red blood cells. This is how more oxygen is carried throughout the body and how physical and mental endurance rises.
Phycocyanin emulates the effects of EPO, by directly stimulating the formation of colony forming unit-erythroid, which then stimulates bone marrow hematopoiesis (the formation of red blood cells).
Otherwise stated, phycocyanin does not influence EPO levels themselves, but creates a similar action that results in the same effect as EPO: more red blood cell production.
To give a brief overview of how incredible phycocyanin is in regards to energy production, we can look at how athletes will using “blood doping” techniques to enhance their performance. One of the substances used to do this is the actual erythropoetin (EPO) hormone itself, by simple injection. This of course is illegal, which gives rise to the safe and legal alternative of emulating the actions of EPO by consuming phycocyanin as a dietary supplement. Take a look at the link below for the phycocyanin powder or capsules itself. There is relatively no taste to it.

The root Rhodiola rosea, which I talked about in my recent article, 5 of the Best Adaptogens: Supplements For Stress, Fatigue and Stamina, also helps to boost EPO.
Pain
The benefits of phycocyanin also extend to modulating pain. It has been shown to inhibit the cyclooxygenase-2 enzyme, which is commonly known as an enzyme that promotes inflammation. It does so by creating what is known as prostaglandin E2 (PGE2).
One double-blind, placebo controlled human study showed that the participants taking the phycocyanin received significant reduction in chronic pain at rest and when physically active.
To note for those who plan to consume to help modulate pain, the participants were taking 2.3 grams per day, which would be just a little over two servings of the phycocyanin powder linked below.

Cancer
In the Journal of Cancer, phycocyanin has been discussed as a potential treatment for various cancers, due to it’s ability to block the proliferation of cancer cells and its ability to kill cancer cells. More specifically, “phycocyanin exerts anti-cancer activity by blocking tumor cell cycle, inducing tumor cell apoptosis and autophagy.”
In fact, the benefits of phycocyanin have reached to the areas of showing anti-cancer effects in breast, liver, lung, colon, Leukemia and bone marrow cancers, both in vivo and in vitro.
Phycocyanin has also been shown to be a neuroprotectant, by scavenging free radicals from damaged nerve cells. This helps to also avoid oxidative damage to DNA and prevent neurons from dying.
More specifically, it has been proposed as a possible treatment for multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and other central nervous system disorders, due to its ability to remylinate the sheaths surrounding neurons. Remylination helps neurons to be able to communicate more effectively and efficiently.

Stillness in the Storm Editor: Why did we post this?
The Deep State has weaponized healthcare in the sense that most people never learn the true methods of maintaining their health. The preceding information dispels this false reality that an individual cannot be healthy without the mainstream medical establishment. It offers information that the reader can use to make better choices, which are ultimately the primary contributors to an individual’s health estate. With health autonomy in hand, neuroticism decreases due to not fearing for the communication of diseases, resulting in the liberation of consciousness-energy that can be used to positively contribute to making the world a better place.
