(We Love Trump) I hate to be the bearer of bad news on this seemingly-fine Saturday morning, but the American flag is canceled — at least, as far as a viral campaign on the left is concerned.

Singer Macy Gray, best known for having one mega-hit song in 1999, was tapped to write an editorial for Market Watch. You know, because she’s clearly an expert on the symbolism of the current flag and is in deep communion with the wants of the American people on this topic.
As per our usual arrangement, the left must ruin everything, and they are hard at work at doing that in regards to Juneteenth. After all, we got this cringe display yesterday, forgoing any possible sense of unity around what is ultimately a good thing to celebrate — the end of slavery.

Gray one-upped that display, arguing that the original American flag is now racist. Of course, she ties this all in with January 6th, because that’s the bogeyman the left are never going to let go of. Never mind that “white supremacy” really had nothing to do with what happened at the Capitol, and no, one guy having a Confederate flag doesn’t make it so.
Here’s how her op-ed starts.
The Confederate battle flag, which was crafted as a symbol of opposition to the abolishment of slavery, is just recently tired. We don’t see it much anymore. However, on the 6th, when the stormers rained on the nation’s most precious hut, waving Old Glory — the memo was received: the American flag is its replacement.
I’ve got an idea. How about not letting a few dozen people define something as established as the American flag for you? It’s really not that difficult to just ignore “white supremacists,” when it comes to dictating what’s allowable in society, from the OK symbol to the nation’s flag. I hear your average white supremacist likes pizza as well. Is Gray going to abstain from eating it? Clearly, we need a new dietary menu free from the influences of a nebulous army of racists.
Gray then gets into her complaints about the flag. It reads like something a 10-year-old would write.
Incorrect? Let’s look to the stars. There are 50, where there should be 52. D.C. and Puerto Rico have been lobbying for statehood for decades. Both have been denied, since statehood would allow each territory’s elected officials seats in the house.
Assuming D.C. reps would be African-American and Puerto Rican reps would be Hispanic, the ultimate assumption is that these elected officials would be Democratic. That alone is racist.
Yeah, well, except D.C. and Puerto Rico…aren’t states.
That seems to be an important point here, right? In the case of Puerto Rico, they themselves haven’t even voted to become a state. Yes, there’s been a lobbying effort to make it one, but that’s largely come from white, wine-sipping liberals in Northeastern cities who want to use Puerto Ricans to establish more power. And no, analyzing the electoral realities of these areas is not “racist.”
It gets worse, though.
On to the stripes. The Smithsonian documents that the “white” stripes represent purity and innocence. America is great. It is beautiful. Pure, it ain’t. It is broken and in pieces.
What if the stripes were OFF-white? What if there were 52 stars to include D.C. and Puerto Rico? What if the stars were the colors of ALL of us — your skin tone and mine — like the melanin scale? The blue square represents vigilance and perseverance; and the red stripes stand for valor. America is all of those things. So, what if those elements on the flag remained? What if the flag looked like this?
Yes, what America needs is a flag that propagates the self-loathing of the country’s left-wing. The idea of the white stripes isn’t that America is wholly pure in every action taken on her behalf, but rather that the idea behind the nation is pure and good. As to the stars, their colors do not represent melanin, so why would they need to do so now? And given you can never put every skin tone on the flag, wouldn’t that lead to yet more charges of exclusion and racism?
Gray ends by comparing her idea to adding the two stars for Hawaii and Alaska, but that wasn’t a complete redesign of the flag. Her entire argument is tortured beyond recognition.
Remember when conservatives were laughed at for suggesting that the left would come after the American flag eventually? Well, chalk this up to another prediction come true. The left must ruin everything.
