(Adam Wilson) Ashli Babbitt was shot and killed by a Capitol police officer during the January 6th protests. Babbitt was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was deployed to Afghanistan and Kuwait. Despite being unarmed and the officer who shot her being on the other side of a door where he had ample opportunity to retreat, the officer was cleared of all charges after an internal investigation. On the one year anniversary of the unrest on January 6th, Babbitt’s mother has come out and defended her daughters legacy and demanded accountability from the United States government.
