Because the propaganda media tries to attach any reprehensible event to that threat so as to convince the people it needs to be dealt with, harshly. This is an age-old tactic of scapegoating, resting on ancient biological disgust mechanisms that we recognize as unthinking mob mentality. In this case, the media is using the New Zealand shooting tragedy, and all the emotions generated therefrom, to paint QAnon (and its supporters) as racist, white supremacists.
