(Stillness in the Storm Editor) As we’ve been saying, we’re witnessing a global revolution in that the people are properly questioning the dictates of officials who have, in many cases, abused their office and harmed the people. In this case, governors are continuing to issue lockdown and stay-at-home orders when no threat to public safety seems to exist. And the people are rightfully questioning the basis of these orders. Instead of governers hearing the needs of the people and adjusting accordingly, they are doubling down. But the police, in some cases, knowing they are the enforcement body of government, aren’t crushing the people in their resistance. I would argue, this is good news.
There’s a somewhat complex legal and lawful situation at work here that I’ll attempt to explain briefly.
Governors and other officials are placed in offices and positions where they need to uphold the laws and policies of the nation, the state, the county, and the municipalities under their jurisdiction. To do so, they have to ensure orders are followed and respected. However, when orders are themselves unlawful or unfounded then, it is the duty of the people to peacefully and respectfully resists such orders, ideally without disrespecting the office of governorship itself. This way, the bad actors can be removed and the true and good mechanism of lawful governorship can be used by a better actor later.
In the following case, the people organized to show support for a gym owner that refused to honor the order of the governer, citing that any health concerns related to covid-19 were being taken into consideration. The governor likely decided to make an example and sent police to enforce the order. But the police didn’t arrest anyone or send the gym owner home. Instead, they merely stated that they were there to protect the peace, and, despite the fact the crowd assembled was in violation of the order, they, the police, would not take action against the people.
This is, in my view, a great example of what lawful, respectful resistance looks like.
And I would also argue that this is itself a blueprint for other forms of peaceful non-violent resistance that is extremely effective in maintaining order while dealing a blow to those individuals who have abused their office and power.
This is the spirit of freedom that the American people are known for. This is the kind of activism we need to continue to make gains in the battle for freedom that is currently at our doorstep.
I think this is all good news, despite the fact, from one perspective it’s a bad situation in that the lockdown is causing hardship.
But, spiritually, problems exist for one reason: to be solved. In the act of solving them, we grow and gain wisdom in how to meet our needs and express our values in trust, lawfully. The challenges of our age, have always been the same, in this sense. How will we strive for the best and most ideal life possible while also honoring the rights of others so they too can do the same?
The answer, is truth, justice, and law. The Creator has set up the game, he has given us the rules (law) and our challenge is, as players to not cheat, and play fairly.
All of the corruption coming to the surface is highlighting the issues of our world so that we the people can do what we came here to do: be the change and make this world a better place.
Together, we’ll do it, under God (the Creator), in trust, and with love and compassion in our hearts.

On Monday, patrons of a New Jersey gym that opened in defiance of Democratic Governor Phil Murphy’s lockdown executive order were let off with a warning and told to “have a good day.”
“We are and only were here for everybody’s safety today,” an officer told those gathered at Atilis Gym in Bellmawr, according to FOX 5 NY. “We planned for the worst and hoped for the best, and it seems like that’s what we have out here today.”
“Formally, you are all in violation of the executive order. On that note, have a good day. Everybody be safe,” the officer added, sparking the crowd to erupt with loud cheering.
The gym operated at a mere 20% capacity and with extra coronavirus precautions in place, including fever checks, and stayed open after the police visit.
“The measures that we took are well above and beyond,” Atilis Gym co-owner Ian Smith said, as noted by FOX 5. “We spread out the entire gym. Everything in the gym is more than six feet apart, including equipment. Every single person walking in the gym is going to have to follow instructions or leave.”
According to The Philadelphia Inquirer, the owners were later issued municipal citations for disorderly conduct.
Current reporting indicates no patrons have been cited, though citizens were threatened by Camden County Prosecutor’s Office over the weekend that “anyone who patronizes a [‘non-essential’] business that is open in violation of an executive order could face criminal charges in the form of a disorderly persons offense for which you could be fined up to $1,000 for each offense and spend up to six months in jail.”

Gov. Murphy addressed the gym opening, warning more enforcement would be brought if the gym owners dare to open their business back up on Tuesday.
“I’m not concerned it will spiral out of control, and we will take action,” the Democrat said. “If you show up at that gym again tomorrow, there’s going to be a different reality than showing up today. These aren’t just words. We’ve got to enforce this, but I also don’t want to start World War III.”
The gym owners will not back down, however.
“I expected this. I actually expected more than this,” said gym co-owner Frank Trumbetti, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer. “We firmly believe that everything we are doing is constitutional. It’s our right, and we have not broken any laws.”
“I didn’t open up today to close tomorrow,” he added.
Chuck Saulter, the borough’s mayor, commended both the police officers and the anti-lockdown protesters gathered outside Atilis Gym.
“With respect to the opening of Atilis Gym, from the start, this matter has been handled exclusively and appropriately by law enforcement, including our local police department,” Saulter told The Philadelphia Inquirer via an emailed statement. “I am proud of the manner in which the Bellmawr Police Department conducted themselves this morning as well as the respect shown toward our police officers by the general public.”

The news is important to all people because it is where we come to know new things about the world, which leads to the development of more life goals that lead to life wisdom. The news also serves as a social connection tool, as we tend to relate to those who know about and believe the things we do.
