Kyle wasn’t the only thing on trial these last several weeks. The right to self defense was what was on trial—which is exactly why leftists, statists, and authoritarians everywhere are fuming.

Rittenhouse told the “Tucker Carlson Tonight” namesake that the case had “nothing to do with race” during a preview of the interview that airs Monday at 8 p.m. ET.

“This case has nothing to do with race. It never had anything to do with race. It had to do with the right to self-defense,” Rittenhouse told Carlson in a clip from the interview that was released over the weekend.

Some of Kyle’s comments made an appearance in The New York Post:

“I’m not a racist person. I support the BLM movement and peacefully demonstrating.”

A jury cleared Rittenhouse of charges of homicide, attempted homicide and reckless endangerment on Friday in the deaths of Joseph Rosenbaum, 36, and Anthony Huber, 26, and the wounding of Gaige Grosskreutz, 27, on Aug. 25, 2020.
