(Ben Marquis) Every election year there is concern expressed over potential voter fraud and illegal voting by foreign nationals, and every election year Democrats and the liberal media assure everyone that no such things have occurred and voter fraud is nothing more than a conspiracy theory.

Imagine our surprise then when the Department of Justice announced on Friday that they had indicted 19 foreign nationals for illegally casting a vote in the 2016 election, as well as one presumably U.S. citizen who was charged with aiding and abetting the fraud of one of those foreigners.
According to Fox News, those indictments were handed down by a federal grand jury in Wilmington, North Carolina. Some of the defendants were charged with falsely claiming U.S. citizenship to register to vote prior to actually voting, while others were charged simply for casting their fraudulent votes.

Multiple countries and multiple charges
Perhaps surprisingly to some, the charged individuals — who ranged in age from 31- to 71-years-old — came from a wide variety of foreign nations, including the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Germany, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Nigeria, Panama, Philippines and Poland, according to a DOJ media release.
Aside from the crimes of making false claims of citizenship to register and casting illegal votes, some of the defendants were also charged with additional crimes including fraudulent misuse of visas, permits and other documents, passport fraud and identity theft, among other charges.
One of the individuals, Ramon Paez-Jerez of the Dominican Republic, had been ordered deported in 1988 but never left, and eventually gained lawful residency and even citizenship after he assumed a false identity. He faces up to 11 years in prison and a $350,000 fine.
Serious penalties
The charged individuals who falsely claimed citizenship and then voted face six years in prison and a $350,000 fine, while the foreigners who merely voted illegally up to one year in prison and a $100,000 fine.
One individual facing charges of fraudulently misusing officials documents could face 26 years in prison and a $350,000 fine, while the individual charged with aiding and abetting faces a sentence of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Two rather significant things have been revealed by these indictments, the first of which is the exposure of the fact that, yes, illegal aliens are fraudulently voting in U.S. elections, despite claims to the contrary from Democrats and the media.
The other major revelation is the creation of a new federal task force that led this investigation, known as the Document and Benefit Fraud Task Force, which includes Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Homeland Security Investigations, aided by ICE Enforcement Removal Operations and the State Department Diplomatic Security Services. This task force could conceivably lead a crackdown on the rampant benefit and document fraud committed by illegal aliens.
As can be seen, there are indeed illegal aliens and foreign nationals who have illegally voted in U.S. elections … and influenced the outcome of those elections, if you will.
Considering all of the outcry from the left about Russians potentially influencing U.S. elections, they are strangely silent when it is revealed that foreigners from countries other than Russia were doing more than just influencing American voters, but actually casting fraudulent votes themselves.
