“Can I ask you about parental rights in education, what critics call the ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill is on the Senate?” WFLA reporter Evan Donovan asked.
“Does it say that in the bill?” DeSantis shot back while Donovan kept talking. “Does it say that in the bill?”

“I’m asking you,” Donovan said.
“I’m asking you to tell me what’s in the bill because you are pushing false narratives,” DeSantis charged.
“It doesn’t matter what critics say,” the governor continued.
“Hold on, it says ‘advances classroom instruction on sexual identity and gender orientation’,” Donovan stated.
“For who?” DeSantis asked. “For grades pre-K through three. So five year old, six year old, seven year olds.”
But Governor DeSantis was just warming up.
“The idea that you wouldn’t be honest about that and tell people what it actually says. It’s why people don’t trust people like you because you peddle false narratives,” he added to applause.
“And so we disabuse you of those narratives,” he went on. “We’re going to make sure that parents are able to send their kid to kindergarten without having some of this stuff injected into their school curriculum.”
Indeed. If one looks up the bill in the Florida House of Representatives, one does not find anything specific about gender identity or sexual preferences. This is what the bill says.
“A school district may not encourage classroom discussion about sexual orientation or gender identity in primary grade levels or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students,” the House bill states.
A school district’s violation of the law would open them up to liability with injunctive relief and potential damages, including court costs.
The journalist apparently didn’t grasp that he had just been exposed as a reckless hack on live television and ‘posted his L’ for the world to see.
The journalist’s tweet prompted some incredulous responses.
“This is an awesome clip Evan, one of the best moments of the press conference today,” DeSantis’ spokesperson Christina Pushaw responded. “Thanks for posting it!”
“journo’s posting their L’s,” Caleb Hull remarked.
“I have a daughter in 2nd grade and a son in kindergarten,” Sara Baldassari replied. “I don’t care who you vote for, kids that age have no business being ‘taught’ that (or even regular sex ed for that matter, way too early for that). Why is this even remotely controversial?”
It’s not controversial to tell educators to keep their sexual opinions to themselves when deadling with kindergartners and elementary schoolers. That didn’t stop many Woke observers from melting down in response to their warped reading of the bill.
The libs continue with their cognitive dissonance in a desperate attempt to defend teachers grooming kids in schools. They think they own your children.

These radicals were absolutely furious about their misreading of the bill. Libs of Tib Tok argued that the bill is aiming to prevent children from being ‘groomed’ for potential sexual exploitation.
