(Amber Crawford) Former FBI agents have recently reported that the bureau is “purging” employees who have expressed conservative views, more specifically, opinions about the events of the January 6 Capitol protests which do not align with the single message being pushed by the FBI.

On Tuesday, U.S. Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH) sent a letter to the Director of the FBI that explains the recent allegations against his agency. Rep. Jordan explains that multiple whistleblowers have claimed that the bureau is conducting a “‘purge’ of FBI employees holding conservative views.”
In the letter, Jordan provided two specific cases of this happening:
“As one example, the FBI targeted [REDACTED]… by suspending… security clearance and eventually indefinitely suspending [REDACTED] from duty and pay. [REDACTED] had apparently shared… personal views that the FBI was not being entirely forthcoming about the events of January 6. As a result, the FBI determined that [REDACTED] had “espoused conspiratorial views” and “promoted unreliable information which indicates support for the events of January 6,” and therefore the FBI questioned [REDACTED] allegiance to the United States.”
Jordan’s letter also detailed that this former FBI agent had “honorably served in the United States military for several years… valiantly earning multiple military commendation medals.” Nevertheless, this agent was still removed from their position at the bureau after expressing viewpoints with a conservative-alignment.

The letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray also told the story of a second whistleblower who “faced retaliation for criticizing the FBI in an anonymous survey… to employees following January 6.” This former employee had never been “disciplined or reprimanded until after” they “criticized the FBI.”
“We are conducting oversight to ensure the FBI is not retaliating against FBI employees for exercising their First Amendment rights and engaging in disfavored political speech,” added Jordan.

On Tuesday, Jordan appeared on Fox News and, speaking to host Laura Ingraham, revealed that a total of six FBI officials have approached the House Judiciary Committee. Jordan also gave more information on one of the whistleblowers, saying that they are a “decorated Iraqi war veteran” whose “allegiance to the country is being questioned because he had the gall to say something that offended the FBI leadership about the January 6 investigation.”

Political leanings should have NOTHING to do with the performance of your job. Public servants, at least in my country, are expected to be completely apolitical and work equally for whomever has been selected by the people. I know this, because I was one. Politics has seeped into all sorts of places where it doesn’t belong in America, and this is a large part of the problem – everything has been made to be about politics! It doesn’t belong in one’s job, and particularly not for judges, IMO. This is part of the problem with division in the US, which is SO prevalent. I don’t know too many other places where people are SO divided by their politics.
