In February, Dominion, a voting technology company, sued Lindell for $1.3 billion, claiming he defamed the company by promoting conspiracy theories about it having engaged in voter fraud during the 2020 presidential election.
“This is all about the First Amendment rights to free speech, what they have done to our country,” Lindell said about his suit during a live stream Monday, according to The Washington Times.
Lindell isn’t the only one to be sued by Dominion. In January, the company announced it was also suing attorney Sidney Powell and several pundits on Fox News for claim about Dominion related to the elections.
“Dominion’s purpose is to silence debate, to eliminate any challenge to the 2020 presidential election, and to cancel and destroy anyone who speaks out against Dominion’s work on behalf of the government in administering the election,” states Lindell’s lawsuit, according to The Hill.
Dominion attorney Stephen Shackelford said in a statement he countersuit does not have any merit and will not affect the suit against Lindell.
