Moms Slam Biden for Tweet Suggesting It’s Better for Them to Work Rather than Raise Their Kids

(Doug Mainwaring) Last night, President Joe Biden sent out a policy comment via Twitter that reveals exactly how much he and Democrat politicians value the role that mothers play in caring for their children and family members in need: zero.

He doesn’t want mothers to stay at home nurturing their kids. He wants able-bodied women out in the workforce while paying strangers to raise their kids:

“Nearly 2 million women in our country have been locked out of the workforce because they have to care for a child or an elderly relative at home,” he said.

“My Build Back Better Act will make caregiving accessible and affordable and help them get back to work,” he added, trying to sound as if he has the best interests of American women and their families in mind.

The President’s infelicitous remark diminishing the vocation of moms triggered an immediate Twitter backlash.

“Treating children as an inconvenience that prevents all parents from joining the labor force really is progressive canon at this point,” fired back Oren Cass, executive director of American Compass and author of “The Once and Future Worker.”

“This from Biden is eerily reminiscent of his claim during the primary that his childcare tax credit ‘would put 7 million women back to work.”

“The reality is that too many people ‘have been locked out of’ family life because they need to labor outside of the home,” countered Ryan Anderson, Ethics and Public Policy Center President.

“We need an economy that allows more people to choose to ‘care for a child or an elderly relative at home,’” continued Anderson.  “Work in the home is real work. Family life matters.

“What a terrible anti-family, anti-woman, anti-mother, anti-human piece of garbage this sentiment is,” declared Andrew T. Walker, Ethics & Public Theology Professor at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.    

“Why is the goal to work and not take care of our families? Why pay someone else to do what we can do better?” wondered Twitter user ‘Jaux Biden.’ “This is not the solution.”

“2 million potential tax cattle are raising children instead of wasting their best years to pad a multinationals bottom line,” asserted Twitter IvyLeagueRefugee, calling out the likely treacherous motivation behind the Biden administration plan. “We plan to fix this by spending more of your money.”

Journalist Abigail Shrier, author of “Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters,” sarcastically observed:

“My favorite part is when he tells moms to hand over their kids to government-paid childcare experts so they can ‘get back to work.’”

Twitter user Catholic Mom, a self-described Catholic convert from Protestantism with a love for the Traditional Latin Mass, offered the perfect corrective to Biden’s disparaging remarks about motherhood:

“What a beautiful gift from God to be able to care for your own children and loved ones,” she said. “Motherhood is beautiful.”
