() Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters joined the woke brigade on the 4th of July with an anti-American rant that is certain to one-up Rep. Cori Bush’s claim that Independence Day is only about freedom “for white people.”

Rep. Maxine Waters, like many progressive Democrats who’ve become prominent figures in the culture war, have turned their backs on American values and have become champions of efforts to demand “social justice” over historical oppressions both real and imagined, further dividing the country between left and right.
In a tweet, Waters attacked the Declaration of Independence upon which the United States’ established its foundations as a sovereign nation free from the tyranny of the British monarchy.
“July 4th … & so, the Declaration of Independence says all men are created equal,” Waters began. “Equal to what? What men? Only white men?”
Waters didn’t end her thoughts there.
She wrote:
“Further, the Dec. of Ind. says we hold these truths to be “self-evident”… yet:
– 17 states have enacted voter suppression laws
– Supreme Court gutted Sec. 5 of the Voting Rights Act
– George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Michael Brown, Sandra Bland, Tamir Rice
Need I say more? #July4”

Although Waters’ remarks received support from social justice activists, many on Twitter questioned her racially inflammatory statements.
Waters’ inflammatory claims about Independence Day are in line with her calls for Black Lives Matter activists to get “more confrontational.”
In April, the Californian representative attended a racial justice rally in Minnesota where a black man, Daunte Wright, was shot and killed in a confrontation with police.
Waters’ rhetoric comes in the wake of racially divisive efforts to promote Critical Race Theory in schools, academic establishments, the federal government, and the military.
Earlier this week, the nation’s largest teachers’ union, the National Education Association, declared its agenda for 2021 to promote Critical Race Theory and the widely debunked New York Times’ 1619 Project throughout 14,000 school districts in 50 states.
As detailed by Conservative Brief earlier on Sunday, Rep. Cori Bush, a progressive Democrat and member of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s “Squad” reminded her followers that the 4th of July is only about freedom “for white people,” adding that, “This land is stolen land and Black people still aren’t free.”
