Justin, why did you change your website. It wasn’t broken. Now it is.
I don’t like the new format. Can you change it back? It just has this ordinary feel to it now. It used to be more impactful. If it has to be then so be it but I just felt I should give you my own personal reaction.
Justin Deschamps says
Thanks for your feedback Jerry. What don’t you like about it exactly? We cannot change it back as the old site was very problematic. We’d love to hear about any specific feedback you might have so we can continue to make improvements. Thanks!

I’m not sure if this is what Jerry is referring to, but before the feel was more coherent with being stillness in the storm, and now it’s more ads everywhere, so the “sits” feel of itself is lost. I totally get that you need to have the ads to support the site but at the moment they are top, right, left, bottom and centre and give a “scary” feel like, what did i just click? This could ofc be highly subjective and you might want to check your stats to see if people are actually clicking more on the ads (in which case you would not want to change anything). Most of all the header that’s sharing itself with ads seems of lesser integrity for lack of a better word than the one before.
Justin Deschamps says
Thanks for the feedback Tanya. Yes we do need ad revenue to keep the site alive. But they’re actually less ads than before. Hopefully, one day we’ll move away from ads entirely, but for now, we need them.

I dearly miss the media links . . the Share panel . . :(
Justin Deschamps says
What links exactly? The media tab is at the top.

I agree with Jerry. Under the new format, the stories vie for dominance against the almost equal sized ads. I understand you rely on the ad revenue but it’s, how to put it delicately….my god man, they’re huge!
Justin Deschamps says
The ads are the same size. The reading plane is a bit smaller, but this was by design as it makes the content easier to read.
