(Carmine Sabia) Donald Trump’s lawsuit against Big Tech companies Facebook, Twitter and Google is gaining steam and the American people are here for it.

On Saturday Linda McMahon, who rose to prominence for her role as an executive for World Wrestling Entertainment and then headed the Small Business Administration for President Donald Trump, said that near 30,000 Americans want to join the lawsuit.
“I became involved in this was just looking, you know our job to support is to support those people who might be like President Trump who has been taken down but primarily he said in a couple of his speeches that big tech censored a sitting president and they should not be able to do that,” she said in an interview with Jeanine Pirro on Fox News.
“The landscape today is that we are in a 21st century digital town hall environment. By the way, social media can do a lot of good things but they have stepped over the boundary this time when they colluded with the government where they have taken down teachers who have inquired about masks, taken down doctors who have tried to talk about the benefits of hydroxychloroquine they have just gone too far. They have colluded with the government to do that and as President Trump said, ‘If they can go after me, they can go after anyone,’ this is not a lawsuit about Democrats or Republicans, this is about the American people and our First Amendment rights and we have to stand up for it,” she said.
“Since this was announced, we had over 30,000 inquiries about ‘how can we join the lawsuit, tells us more about the lawsuit?’ And I think that speaks volumes to the concerns,” she said.
In an op-ed for The Wall Street Journal titled, “Donald J. Trump: Why I’m Suing Big Tech,” the 45th president detailed his lawsuit against Big Tech companies Facebook, Twitter, and Google.
In his piece, Trump wrote:
One of the gravest threats to our democracy today is a powerful group of Big Tech corporations that have teamed up with the government to censor the free speech of the American people. This is not only wrong—it is unconstitutional. To restore free speech for myself and for every American, I am suing Big Tech to stop it.
Social media has become as central to free speech as town meeting halls, newspapers, and television networks were in prior generations. The internet is the new public square. In recent years, however, Big Tech platforms have become increasingly brazen and shameless in censoring and discriminating against ideas, information, and people on social media—banning users, de-platforming organizations, and aggressively blocking the free flow of information on which our democracy depends.
He then detailed some major issues he has noticed with Big Tech silencing, particularly with suppression of speech and manipulation.
No longer are Big Tech giants simply removing specific threats of violence. They are manipulating and controlling the political debate itself. Consider content that was censored in the past year. Big Tech companies banned users from their platforms for publishing evidence that showed the coronavirus emerged from a Chinese lab, which even the corporate media now admits may be true.
In the middle of a pandemic, Big Tech censored physicians from discussing potential treatments such as hydroxychloroquine, which studies have now shown does work to relieve symptoms of Covid-19. In the weeks before a presidential election, the platforms banned the New York Post—America’s oldest newspaper—for publishing a story critical of Joe Biden’s family, a story the Biden campaign did not even dispute.
Perhaps most egregious, in the weeks after the election, Big Tech blocked the social-media accounts of the sitting president. If they can do it to me, they can do it to you—and believe me, they are.
Trump then detailed his lawsuit against Big Tech, where he even mentioned earlier this week he would sit down for a deposition if he had to.
This flagrant attack on free speech is doing terrible damage to our country. That is why in conjunction with the America First Policy Institute, I filed class-action lawsuits to force Big Tech to stop censoring the American people. The suits seek damages to deter such behavior in the future and injunctions restoring my accounts.
Further, Big Tech and government agencies are actively coordinating to remove content from the platforms according to the guidance of agencies such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Big Tech and traditional media entities formed the Trusted News Initiative, which essentially takes instructions from the CDC about what information they need to “combat.” The tech companies are doing the government’s bidding, colluding to censor unapproved ideas.
