Oklahoma’s Senate Bill 1106, the “Citizen Health Mandate Protection Act,” was submitted on Friday by State Sen. Rob Standridge. It is aimed at both public and private entities and individuals that mandate vaccines or other medical treatments as a condition of employment.
Employers who force medical treatments onto unwilling employees could be liable for $1 million in punitive damages if injured by that treatment, including forced Covid vaccinations.
As reported earlier, the Oklahoma National Guard unit has made itself clear to the Department of Defense it has no intention of enforcing its Covid-19 vaccine mandate. The commanding officers are allowing the troops to opt out of the requirement, in accordance with the governor’s mandate.
Additionally, Oklahoma Attorney General John O’Connor is filing a lawsuit against Ascension Healthcare to try to block the company from firing employees who do not get a COVID-19 vaccination. Ascension Healthcare is one of the largest healthcare networks in the country.
