She tweeted a photo this weekend, carefully staged, of herself watching the Roe V Wade protests and it had some liberals incensed.

“I know there are women out there who are afraid. To those of you who feel alone and scared: I want you to know the President and I are fighting for you and your rights. We are in this fight together,” she said with a photo of herself watching the protests on CNN.

The backlash to the photo was swift.

“Just delete this honestly,” YouTube star Kendall Rae said.

“I want you to know: we are watching TV,” actor James Urbaniak mocked.

“I love to fight for human rights by watching the news on a private plane,” another said mockingly.

“Okay so abortion centers on federal property in states throughout the country when? Abolishing the filibuster when? Expanding the court when?” Akilah Hughes said.

“Do something then. Even on the rare chance it’s genuinely candid, these ‘reaction’ pics just send the message that your first thought was to tell your publicity people to take a photo of you looking concerned,” another Twitter user said.

“Um. 36,000 feet above everything, watching on a big ass TV in a private plane, and the message is ‘we’re in this together’? I’m not sure you guys get where the rest of us are at right now,” Daily Kos writer Joan McCarter argued.

“Not VP Kamala Harris watching the erosion of #RoeVsWade from her plane, at a distance. Whoever thought this was good photo-op needs to be fired immediately. This is literally the embodiment of thoughts and prayers,” Anna Gifty said.

“Who was the strategist that decided a photo op on a taxpayer funded private plane both physically and metaphorically above the people watching pensively while not demonstrating action was a good idea?” Imani Barbarin said.

“You could try and try but you would not invent a more cutting visual metaphor for the democrats’ total detachment from the abortion fight than this,” Jack Mirkinson said.

“Kamala Harris chose as the main visual symbol of her reacting to the end of roe an image that directly echoes George W Bush looking down at Katrina. You could not make it up,” he said.

The vice president responded to the ruling on Friday at a press conference.

“Here’s what that decision means: For nearly 50 years, we have talked about what Roe v. Wade protects.  Today, as of right now, as of this minute, we can only talk about what Roe v. Wade protected.  Past tense,” she said.

“This is a healthcare crisis, because understand: Millions of women in America will go to bed tonight without access to the healthcare and reproductive care that they had this morning; without access to the same healthcare or reproductive healthcare that their mothers and grandmothers had for 50 years.

“This is the first time in the history of our nation that a constitutional right has been taken from the people of America.  And what is that right? — some might ask.  It’s the right to privacy,” the vice president said.

“Think about it as the right for each person to make intimate decisions about heart and home; decisions about the right to start a family, including contraception, such as IUDs and the morning-after pill; decisions about whether to have a child, including, as Senator Durbin mentioned, through in-vitro fertilization; decisions to marry the person you love — Obergefell v. Hodges, Loving vs. Virginia.

“This opinion also says, when your read it, that abortion is not deeply rooted in our nation’s history.  They offer that in the opinion as a foundation for the decision they rendered today,” she said.
