Health Ministry Director-General Prof. Nachman Ash said the country planned to allow vaccinated tourists to enter the country by August 1st but that plan has changed now.

The announcement of banning vaccinated tourists coming into the country comes just days after Prime Minister Naftali Bennett stated that the Pfizer vaccine is “significantly less effective” against the Delta variant.

The Prime Minster’s statement came after researches from Hebrew University discovered that large amounts of people who were already vaccinated with the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine ended up becoming infected with Covid-19 even after being fully vaccinated.

The Jerusalem Post had more details to report about Israel’s new ban:

Vaccinated tourists will not be allowed to enter Israel on August 1, as had been previously planned, Health Ministry Director-General Prof. Nachman Ash said Sunday, also announcing that the authorities will discuss measures to restrict all travel.

“We are postponing the date for the entry of tourists; it is not going to happen on August 1,” he said, adding that a new date has not been set. “Unfortunately, the current situation does not permit us to allow tourists to enter.”

The director-general also warned the public that with the Delta variant raging around the world, this is not a time to fly abroad. He said the authorities are examining how to restrict travel, either by expanding the list of countries under the travel ban or severe travel warning, or by other means.

The New York Post had more details on Israel’s Prime Minster calling the Pfizer vaccine not effective:

Israeli officials are warning that the Pfizer vaccine is “significantly less” effective against the Delta variant of the coronavirus, the strain first seen in India that now accounts for 31 percent of cases in the US.

“We do not know exactly to what degree the vaccine helps, but it is significantly less,” said Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett.

The shot is still keeping people from getting seriously ill in Israel, where over 60 percent of the population has received a jab. Just 1.6 percent have become critically ill, compared with 4 percent in the pre-vax wave of cases.

Concerns are also rising about the effectiveness of vaccines against the Beta variant, first identified in South Africa.

Israel’s refusal to allow vaccinated citizens into their country is an admission of guilt that the vaccine doesn’t work as well the far-left claims.
