Asgardia is a prototypical space nation that will have its own government and constitution, replete with ministers of finance, foreign affairs, science, education, equity and resources, and administrative affairs.
Asgard was an ancient Norse term for a city in the sky, and thus Asgardia got its name, but the way this city will be run is of concern to those who were once thrilled at its prospect. Their excitement has been quelled by rumors that Asgardia will be just another ‘kingdom,’ and that the denizens of planet earth will be funding the ‘royalty’ who will reside and lord over them there.
For some this sounds all too familiar to the current predicament we find ourselves in on our own little floating planet in space. This, among other concerns were recently addressed in a town meeting for future residents of Asgardia.
On a recent Facebook post, one possible future citizen, Thomas Trombley stated,
“I originally signed myself up for this future space nation with optimism. I would still like to view this idea with starry eyes, but as of late, certain things have come up to give me pause. The proposed constitution labels Asgardia as a “kingdom” and a “monarchy”? please tell me that’s a mistake in translation. And I keep seeing posts from people terrified about taxation from Asgardia. As none of us live in any nation named Asgardia, none of us buys products in, or products that were produced in a nation named Asgardia, and none of us have ever travelled to a nation called Asgardia, I feel any taxes levied against us would be unjust . . .
“Americans, and bitter Britons may remember the small squabble over taxation without representation. Brits called it treason, among other things. Americans called it our war for independence.
“I have no problem paying taxes in my home country, as that money goes toward schools, roads, social programs, etc. But at least I know where my taxes are going. If Asgardia is going to tax us, we should DEMAND an itemized receipt, so to speak. I want to know where my taxes go. . .But that’s just my opinion. I could be wrong.”
Trombley makes good points; however, he doesn’t know where all his taxes go – as evidenced by trillions of dollars that went missing from the Federal Reserve with no explanation, and possibly trillions more spent in black budget projects by our governments on earth – further monarchies – which keep citizens’ money tied up in bank bailouts, high-level usury through fractional banking, the rigging of every market from gold to silver to currencies, and highly classified documents.
For example, where did $9 trillion in emergency loans recently go – all from tax payer monies?
- Merrill Lynch
- Citigroup
- Morgan Stanley
- Bear Sterns
- Bank of America
- Goldman Sachs
- (And all this per the Federal Reserve!)
The pentagon also has, minimally, a $50 billion-dollar black budget for anything from developing nanotechnology to be inserted into citizens without their permission to conducting synthetic telepathy experiments (mind control).
There’s an incredible spreadsheet that outlines just some of these black budget expenses paid for with our blood, sweat, tears, and bills (Euro, Dollar, Yen, Deutschmark, etc.) It will make your head spin.
About 50% of our “incomes” go to taxes in an additional four categories: national defense, health care expenses like Medicaid, “education,” and job and family security programs like unemployment insurance and food and housing assistance, all of which are bloated by even the most liberal as well conservatively-slanted alike.
There’s also the fact that our tax code exceeds 72,000 pages in length, and requires six-billion “billable hours” every year for the government to tax us. So, we pay them to figure out how much in taxes we will pay them.
Taxation is just one of many concerns that Trombley and future citizens of the “kingdom” of Asgardia should address?
For now — those who were excited about escaping the tribulations of earth, created by a technocratic aristocracy, to a fairy tale land in the sky — should be leery.
