(Amanda Prestigiacomo) Actress and vocal Trump hater Bette Midler offered a quasi-apology after she was ripped online for sharing a widely-debunked meme of President Donald Trump with her 1.6 million Twitter followers.

Offering her non-apology apology, the actress suggested it was Trump’s fault she shared the fake meme because he “lies” so much; she also spread another lie about Trump in the process of her “apology.”

“The story goes that in a 1998 interview with People Magazine, Donald Trump said he was considering a run for president and would do so as a Republican because ‘They’re the dumbest group of voters in the country. They believe anything on Fox News. I could lie and they’d still eat it up. I bet my numbers would be terrific,” left-wing fact-checking site Politifact outlined, admitting that the meme was “pants on fire” false.

Midler published the fake meme with the caption, “He certainly knew his crowd.”
The tweet went viral, racking up more than 27,000 “likes” and duping allegedly legitimate journalists before the actress deleted the post.
As highlighted by The Wrap reporter Jon Levine, former Gizmodo chief and Columbia Journalism School professor Raju Narisetti captioned Midler’s debunked tweet with, “Dumb and Dumber [GOP].” He, too, has since deleted his tweet.
“I apologize; this quote turns out to be a fake from way back in ’15-16. Don’t know how I missed it, but it sounds SO much like him that I believed it was true!” Midler posted on Monday, adding a link to a fact-check debunking the meme.

An hour later, the actress captioned a tweet regarding Trump’s low approval rating in the U.K.: “This, however, is real. Suck it up, Trumpsters!!!” she wrote, ever so contrite.

“Yes, one must always check the quotes,” she followed up. “That should take up, oh, maybe 23 of the 24 hours in the day? Because there are SO MANY LIES, most of them generated by Trump himself, that the task of separating the truth from the lies is impossible. Which is just how he likes it. #CHAOS.”

Further dumping the blame on Trump, Midler responded to a tweet labeling her fake news tweet “very truthy” with another lie about the president.
“I have to say, [it] sounded so much like ‘All Mexicans are rapists’” she said — though Trump never said this — “and ‘I’m the greatest Predident [sic]’ that I bought it!”

“I think we should investigate who created that tweet! They really captured his tone and his personality! What a textual impersonation!!” she added.
It's very truthy.

Midler made waves in October when she called women the “n-word of the world” in response then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s forthcoming confirmation.
“Women, are the n-word of the world,” Midler wrote in a tweet she has since deleted. “Raped, beaten, enslaved, married off, worked like dumb animals; denied education and inheritance; enduring the pain and danger of childbirth and life IN SILENCE for THOUSANDS of years[.] They are the most disrespected creatures on earth.”

“I gather I have offended many by my last tweet. ‘Women are the…etc’ is a quote from Yoko Ono from 1972, which I never forgot,” the actress wrote on social media after receiving swift backlash. “It rang true then, and it rings true today, whether you like it or not. This is not about race, this is about the status of women; THEIR HISTORY.”

Stillness in the Storm Editor: Why did we post this?
Fake news is a term referring to false news stories that are distributed by either mainstream or alternative media outlets. Like the CIA-invented term “conspiracy theorist,” fake news is also used as a pejorative by the establishment media and the Deep State to paint anyone not in agreement with officialdom as a scam artist, sensationalist, or domestic terrorist. In effect, fake news is the new Scarlet Letter, employing social ridicule and out-group manipulations to ostracize anyone with information that could be hazardous to the agenda of the Deep State. The reality is that the mainstream media is arguably the worst offender of pushing fake news stories, reference Operation Mocking Bird. The preceding information highlights fake news stories, media bias, or state-sponsored propaganda. With this information in hand, one can develop a comprehension of how information sequestration or reality management takes place, through an exposé of fake news from 2018. It should be noted that fake news is itself a form of propaganda, mind-influencing media for the purpose of satisfying some agenda.
