(Patricia Burke) Within the dynamic of perpetrator, victim, accuser, and abuser, the U.S. liberal democratic party and left-leaning environmental groups are fond of perceiving themselves as the knights-in-shining-armor/good guys.
Related Tobacco and Coca: From Sacred To Addictive

For a few years, there was a run of reports on the damage inflicted by mercenary and industry-funded “science” – often attributed to the political right regarding “climate.”
Armed with mounting research and a detailed historical record, one would think that the momentum of scrutiny towards mercenary science would have resulted in discernment and corrective action, especially from environmentalists, especially on the left.
No such luck.
Doubt is Their Product, How Industry’s Assault on Science Threatens Your Health.
In 2008, David Michaels published his book, Doubt Is Their Product, How Industry’s Assault on Science Threatens Your Health.
“Doubt is Their Product documents how the tobacco industry’s tactics spawned a multimillion dollar industry that is dismantling public health safeguards in areas far from tobacco. Product defense consultant [ ] , have increasingly skewed the scientific literature, manufactured and magnified scientific uncertainty, and influenced policy decisions to the advantage of polluters and the manufacturers of dangerous products. To keep the public confused about the hazards posed by climate change, second-hand smoke, asbestos, lead, plastics, and many other toxic materials, industry executives have hired unscrupulous scientists and lobbyists to dispute scientific evidence about health risks. In doing so, they have not only delayed action on specific hazards, but they have constructed barriers to make it harder for lawmakers, government agencies, and courts to respond to future threats.”
Merchants of Doubt: How a Handful of Scientists Obscured the Truth on Issues from Tobacco Smoke to Global Warming.
In 2010, Naomi Oreskes and Erik M. Conway published their book Merchants of Doubt: How a Handful of Scientists Obscured the Truth on Issues from Tobacco Smoke to Global Warming.
“Science” noted,
“[ ] Opposition to scientifically well-supported claims about the dangers of cigarette smoking, the difficulties of the Strategic Defense Initiative (‘Star Wars’), the effects of acid rain, the existence of the ozone hole, the problems caused by secondhand smoke, and-ultimately the existence of anthropomorphic climate change was used in ‘the service of political goals and commercial interests’ to obstruct the transmission to the American public of important information.’”
Stephen H. Schneider wrote,
“[ ] the sordid history of tobacco industry protectionists, who framed the debate as scientifically unproven gaining decades of market share for those merchants of death – who knew all along the risks of their products.”
Science for Sale
In February of 2016, the widely respected Center for Public Integrity published an in-depth series exploring mercenary science entitled ‘Science for Sale. “Science and opinion have become increasingly conflated, in large part because of corporate influence. As we explain in “Science for Sale,” an investigative series by the Center for Public Integrity and co-published with Vice.com, industry-backed research has exploded — often with the aim of obscuring the truth — as government-funded science dwindles.
How, Why, and When the Scrutiny of Mercenary Science Stopped: Obama’s Smart Meters
In the years surrounding the publication of the two books “Doubt is Their Product “ and “Merchants of Doubt,” the momentum of scrutiny towards mercenary science was widely expressed along party lines.
Democratic-leaning publications and writers were pointing their fingers at science deniers, corporations and Republican agendas regarding human impacts on climate.
Then, in a remarkable, incomprehensible, stupefying turn of events, Democratic economic and political agendas emerged to address climate concerns based on mercenary science. Under the Obama administration, Democratic decision-makers near and far began authorizing the installation of wireless smart utility meters under the guise of addressing climate concerns, sustainability, and energy efficiency.
Individuals and groups who had been pointing their fingers at mercenary tobacco scientists were now welcoming and promoting the testimony of mercenary tobacco scientists.
Across the country, Peter Valberg of Gradient, lied in state after state about the safety of 24/7/365 exposures to pulsed microwave radiofrequencies caused by smart meters. Exponent also provided its mercenary expertise.
Scrutiny of mercenary science came to a halt coinciding with the Obama administration’s promotion of the smart grid and the burgeoning growth of wireless consumer products.
During the Obama years, the Federal Communications Commission was headed by Tom Wheeler. He was the former Chief Executive Officer of the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association (CTIA).
Obama said that Wheeler “has been at the forefront of some of the very dramatic changes that we’ve seen in the way we communicate and how we live our lives. He was one of the leaders of a company that helped create thousands of good, high-tech jobs. He’s in charge of the group that advises the FCC on the latest technology issues. He’s helped give American consumers more choices and better products.”
Democrats enthralled with the economic benefits of the smart grid and wireless industry displayed outright dismissal, ridicule and scorn towards those reporting harm. The Democrats broke the hearts, and continue to break the hearts of sincere victims.
Within the dynamic of perpetrator, victim, accuser, and abuser, this is how the Democrats, in bed with the wireless industry, became perpetrators. It is very easy, when you hire mercenary scientists who deny adverse health and environmental impacts, while individuals are being harmed.
The momentum of scrutiny towards mercenary corrupted science has been corrupted by the telecommunications industry.
Natural Blaze has been one primary media resource for investigative journalism revealing the extent to which tobacco scientist Peter Valberg of Gradient served as a safety expert for smart meters.
The primary public researchers who were willing to discuss mercenary science have failed to extend the scope of their concern to confronting the corruption of EMF/RF/5G/IOT/IOUT science.
We are in a race to the bottom of the barrel regarding stewardship of the environment, as the wireless paradigm repeats the assaults inflicted by the wanton use of chemicals.
Only those communities, states, and nations that stop the lying have the opportunity to stop the politically charged, manufactured, perpetrator, victim, accuser, abuser dynamic.
The UK’s David Grimes
Not covered in the mainstream media, independent non-industry scientists have been questioning the recent work of UK commenter David Grimes.
By way of background, readers who have followed the history of Monsanto may want to read the article by Michael Cohen, published by Covert Action: “The World’s Most Evil Company” May Lose a Few Court Fights—But Will Keep On Poisoning and Killing Millions.”
Cohen is the author of The Fight Against Monsanto’s Roundup: The Politics of Pesticides, with a forward by Vandana Shiva.
The U.K’s David Grimes is also an industry apologist for Monsanto.
Many mercenary scientists often jump from lying for one industry to lying for another.
1) Co-published by the DisInformation Chronicle and The Journal of Scientific Practice and Integrity (JoSPI): Experts Blast David Robert Grimes for His Failure to Understand Science and Love of Self-Citation, by Paul Thacker. While claiming to debunk conspiracies and speak for science, Grimes ignores published research and channels corporate PR. Researchers with decades of experience in toxicology and epidemiology are crying foul and calling for retraction of a recent essay in JAMA Oncology written by Grimes. [ ] In the past, Grimes also promoted a narrative favored by Monsanto that argued against the science evidence on harm caused by the pesticide glyphosate.

4) Joel M. Moskowitz, Ph.D. School of Public Health University of California, Berkeley unpublished rebuttal to Grimes, “5G, Public Health and Uncomfortable Truths”.
5) 5G Opposition — Critical Thought Or Conspiracy? Gimes stated, “Many activists have the lowest level of knowledge about the thing on which they opine. You can convince yourself you believe something if it makes you feel good about yourself. One of the motivators of people spreading these conspiracy theories is the idea of them having special knowledge. This is illusionary superiority or illusionary knowledge, and it’s very alluring to certain people. Narcissism is a factor behind this.”
6) “The Ugly Face of Science – David Robert Grimes, Steven Novella, David Gorski”, author Yoda Knight explains,
“They are masters in sophistry – pumping out clever arguments yet which, ultimately, turn out to be epistemologically false, misleading, or dumb rhetoric. This includes their fixed-false belief that ‘burden of proof always lies with the person making a claim’. This is erroneous because burden of proof depends on the scientific plausibility of a claim – not on who makes it. So, for example, the onus is on the Agrochemical Industry to prove that the long-term, systemic and synergistic effects of chemicals used are safe.
Sophistry has no place in medicine or public health journalism.
This isn’t just an affront to true science and real skepticism — it is a danger to public health, social harmony, the spirit of free society, and to finding pragmatic and genuinely sustainable solutions to the problems facing people and the Earth.”
We either embrace or reject the lies. It’s very simple.
Stillness in the Storm Editor: Why did we post this?
The news is important to all people because it is where we come to know new things about the world, which leads to the development of more life goals that lead to life wisdom. The news also serves as a social connection tool, as we tend to relate to those who know about and believe the things we do. With the power of an open truth-seeking mind in hand, the individual can grow wise and the collective can prosper.
