CNN’s Acosta Whines Following Biden-Doocy Exchange: ‘We Never Got Apology From Trump’

(Jon Dougherty) CNN host and personality Jim Acosta complained on Monday that he and others at his far-left network “never got an apology” from former President Donald Trump who often clapped back at — but did not curse at — reporters.

Acosta’s complaint came in the wake of President Joe Biden calling Fox News White House correspondent a “stupid son of a b**ch” on a hot mic earlier in the afternoon.

“Today we had the president of the United States refer to a reporter as an SOB,” Acosta said on his network on Monday night. “You know, Don [Lemon], you and I got called a lot worse back in the day. We never got an apology. I don’t remember that from the commander in chief. So maybe things are a little bit better to some extent.”

The verbal slip took place during a White House event on the Biden administration’s efforts to combat inflation. After Biden complained that all the press questions were about the military buildup around Ukraine, Doocy shouted, “Will you take questions about inflation? Do you think inflation is a political liability ahead of the midterms?”

Biden, the 79-year-old, thought that his microphone was turned off, when he responded sarcastically to Doocy, thinking he could not hear him, “No, that’s a great asset. More inflation. What a stupid son of a bitch.”

Doocy and Biden, or White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, often butt heads as they do not appear to like when he asks the tough questions. But that is not the only Fox News reporter he has had issues with recently.

Trump and Acosta had a contentious relationship during his term in office, often trading accusations and barbs. And Trump often referred to the mainstream media as an “enemy of the people,” to which many took umbrage. But Trump did not curse at anyone in the media, at least publicly from his podium.

For his part, Doocy said that Biden called him later to apologize.

“He called my cellphone, and he said, ‘It’s nothing personal, pal,’” Doocy said of his conversation with Biden. “And we went back and forth, and we were talking about just kind of moving forward.”

During a segment on Fox News, Doocy responded to Joe Biden calling him a “stupid son of a b*tch” on Monday by laughing off the entire incident.

“I couldn’t even hear him because people were shouting at us to get out,” Doocy said.

“But somebody came up to me in the briefing room a few minutes later and said, ‘did you hear what the President said?’ And I said, ‘no, what?’ They said, ‘he called you a stupid SOB, and I said, ‘did he say SOB?’ And the person said, ‘no,’” Doocy added.

“So, Doocy, I think the president’s right, you are a stupid SOB,” Fox News host Jesse Watters joked.

“Yeah, nobody has fact-checked him yet and said it’s not true,” Doocy joked back.

Doocy is not the only Fox News reporter he has had issues within recent times.

The president snapped on a female reporter last Thursday and mocked her question about Russia as being “stupid.”

“Why are you waiting on Putin to make the first move, sir?” Fox News reporter Jacqui Heinrich asked Biden at the end of an event.

Biden laughed and said, “What a stupid question.”

    Welp, apples and oranges. You don’t apologize for publicly-stated truths, which differ from getting caught with muttered gratuitous name-calling.
