In a poll conducted by the market-research company YougGov, 54% of Americans said they believe intelligent alien life exists. And in 2012, 126,144,000 Americans voted in the Presidential election, a little more than 57% of the total population of the US. Approximately the same number of people who voted in the election also believe in intelligent alien, or extraterrestrial life.
Any savvy campaign manager for a presidential candidate would be foolish not to try and tap into this growing demographic. If even 10% of the UFO community was rallied, the candidate they supported could easily win the general election in November.
On April 8, one day after the Hillary Clinton campaign again raised the importance of the public learning the truth about classified UFO files, her chief rival, Senator Bernie Sanders, announced that he was accepting an invitation to give a speech at a Vatican Conference on April 15 at the Pontifical Academy of Sciences. This is the same venue that Vatican astronomers have organized events to discuss the implications of discovering extraterrestrial life.
