(Kyle Becker) President Joe Biden addressed the nation on Thursday regarding a U.S. military raid that resulted in the death of ISIS leader Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi in Syria.

During the address, Biden gave an excuse for why at least 13 people, including 6 children and 4 women, were killed. Watch:
“President Biden said Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi died by exploding a bomb that killed himself and members of his family, including women and children, as U.S. forces approached,” the AP reported.
“President Biden said Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi died by exploding a bomb that killed himself and members of his family, including women and children, as U.S. forces approached,” the AP reported.
However, Syria Civil Defense has a different account of what happened.
“The Syria Civil Defense (The White Helmets) received reports about an airborne raid after midnight on Thursday. Later it was discovered that the airborne raid was carried out by U.S. special forces in the Atma area in the Idlib countryside near the Syrian-Turkish border,” SCD said.
“SCD teams made their way towards the scene but were unable to enter initially as a result of the clashes and bombing that followed the airborne operation,” it reported. “The clashes concluded at 3:07 in the morning when helicopters exited the scene.”
“Our teams managed to enter the building at 3:15 a.m,” it continued. “The building has two stories and a basement. The upper story was partially destroyed.”
“Our teams rushed an injured child to the hospital,” the organization added. “The child’s entire family was killed in the operation. The teams also rushed another person to the hospital who was injured in the clashes when he approached the scene to witness what was happening.”
“The SCD teams recovered the bodies of at least 13 persons, including 6 children and 4 women, who were killed in the clashes and bombing that followed the airborne operation,” SCD concluded. “The teams delivered 2 bodies to the Forensic Division in the city of Idlib.”
The conflicting reports are not entirely mutually exclusive. The New York Times on Thursday afternoon attempted to straighten the narrative of events.
“American helicopters ferried the commandos into position after midnight, surrounding a house in Atmeh, a town close to the border with Turkey in rebel-held Idlib Province, according to eyewitnesses, social media reports, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a conflict monitor based in Britain,” the Times reported.
“A tense standoff briefly ensued, with loudspeakers blaring warnings in Arabic for everyone in the house to surrender, neighbors said,” the report continued. “Then an explosion rocked the building. After that, some of the house’s occupants had not emerged and a major battle erupted, with heavy machine-gun fire and apparent missile strikes.” [Emphasis added]
“During the operation, one of the American helicopters suffered a mechanical problem, was forced to land, and was later destroyed by American attack aircraft. After about three hours, the American commandos and their remaining helicopters flew off, witnesses said,” the Times continued. Advertisements
“Given the fluid nature of early reports in a complex raid like Thursday’s operation, the military’s initial version may be incomplete,” the Times noted. “Accounts of other events have at times turned out to be contradictory or sometimes flat wrong.”
However, it is not the first slightly suspect report to come out of the military operation against al-Qurayshi. There was a downed helicopter during the operation, which was reportedly due to a “fire” and subsequent intentional detonation.
“#EXCLUSIVE Our source on the ground in Atmeh, #Syria managed to enter the house which was raided by US special forces last night,” Al-Aan TV reporter Jenan Mousse reported. “Blood on the floor, chaos inside, damage clearly visible.” A video was posted of the aftermath.”
“Based on info from our sources on the ground in Syria, I prepared this @akhbar map showing exact house which was raided by U.S. forces last night in Atmeh near the Turkish border,” Mousse reported. “It is very close to a HTS checkpoint. Lots of rumors of who was targeted but nothing confirmed yet”:

“Our source in Atmeh sent us this 2nd, longer video of the house raided last night by U.S. forces,” the reporter added on Twitter. “As u can see, it’s a two-story building, major damage inside, not clear yet who Americans were looking for. Only 1 house targeted so very specific operation.”
This turned out to be the raid against Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi.
“Acc[ording] to eyewitnesses, an Iraqi speaker who was with the Americans shouted through a loudspeaker during Atmeh raid: ‘You have 15 minutes to surrender & get out of the house.’ However occupants refused & a gun battle erupted,” Mousse added. “Here are some pics of damage to the outer wall & ammo.”

“According to the @SyriaCivilDef, at least 13 people, including 6 children & 4 women, were killed in bombings and clashes that followed an airborne operation by American forces just after midnight on a house in #Atmeh town on the Syrian-Turkish border.”
“This vehicle is parked in front of the house that was targeted by U.S. special forces in Atmeh, Syria. Eyewitnesses tell @akhbar that the car belongs to the residents of the targeted house.”

“Here are exclusive pictures by my source on the ground in Syria of an American helicopter which crashed last night during the special operation that killed the leader of ISIS.”Advertisements

“Just to clarify: The damage done to the U.S. helicopter, as seen on the pictures, is not due to landing/crash or enemy fire,” the reporter claimed. “The Americans destroyed the helicopter themselves after an unknown failure forced it to land.”
The terrorist leader was reportedly given 15 minutes to surrender, according to witness accounts, but it is unclear why the advanced warning was given. So, regardless of how the women and children were killed, one could still argue it was a botched operation.
It is a concerning place for Americans to be in when you don’t know whom to believe. That is the price the Biden administration has to pay for its ceaseless deception. At some point, however, the whole truth is sure to come out.
