AOC Proposes Funding to ‘De-Program’ What She Calls ‘White Supremacists’

(Frank Salvato) US Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-NY), believes that a vast majority of the evils facing the United States today stem from “White supremacists” who are caught in “misinformation bubbles”; individuals who desperately need to be “de-programmed” by a government funded initiative.

Ocasio-Cortez, speaking in a virtual town hall Friday evening, said the House Subcommittee on Civil Rights, on which she serves, has held hearings over the past two years on the issue of White supremacy.

The Squad member said there is a wide array of radicalization ranging from those who sympathize to conspiracy theorists to neo-Nazis. Ocasio-Cortez insisted that such radical ideology could very well facilitate violence and domestic terrorism.

 

Stating that there are programs to “de-radicalize” those who have been brain-washed into White supremacy, the Marxist-Progressive from the Bronx said the federal government needs to provide additional funding for those efforts.

“The White supremacist cause is futile, it’s nihilist,” AOC said. “Their world will never exist. That’s why we’re seeing violence right now… We have to pick up those pieces.”

Ocasio-Cortez said those who have arrived at the embrace of White supremacy operate in a “misinformation bubbles,” alluding to the ongoing social media censorship battle currently taking place in our nation.

She insisted that expunging White supremacy – or de-programming those already in its grasp, will take more than one conversation, likening it to therapy.

“There are people who are radicalized right now. It’s going to take a very long time to de-radicalize these people and a lot of effort,” she said. “This is a problem that doesn’t go away on January 20th.”

In a startling statement, Ocasio-Cortez claimed that research has shown “healing is possible,” suggesting that there is a form of White supremacist conversion therapy, saying “We need to double, triple or quadruple the funding for these programs.”
