Can our dreams lock us into or out of reality?
How can we know if we are truly connected with Higher Wisdom, or just denying being grounded in life?

This past week we had a presidential inauguration unlike any other in US history, and at least half of the country is feeling either disillusioned or like their dreams are coming true. Some of us may even find ourselves feeling disappointed with the manifestations of the material world and the channels we have been buying our beliefs into.
A Higher Calling
A great astrological correspondence of this energy can be seen with Vesta, the Goddess asteroid that connects us with commitment to our higher purpose, having gone retrograde on Tuesday, January 19, at 3:57am (EST), where she will move from 21-6° Virgo, until she goes direct again on April 20th. Vesta in Virgo is precise and dedicated to excellence in serving others, and while she retrogrades she calls us to reconnect with our own inner sacred flame and what practices we can employ to keep those fires lit. Our inspiration must now come from within. As much as we may want the world to fulfill us, the deepest spiritual work and results always come with the dedication from the inside out.
Feisty Mars in steadfast Taurus is still squaring expansive Jupiter in idealistic Aquarius, giving us power and drive to grow in new ways. However, this may also lead to overdrive or impulsivity, so remaining measured or partially cautious while also exploring our new horizons is a good balance to strive for with these energies.
Grounding the Ethereal into the Real

Saturday the 23rd, the Sun and Saturn conjunct at 4° of Aquarius at 9:53pm, imbuing the powerhouse of the luminary with the exacting and rational tenacity of the taskmaster. This is a day where we can see our challenges clearly and if we support these energies we may see the long but successful climb up the mountain possible before us.
Sunday at 4:45 pm, the Moon in Gemini conjuncts the North Node of Destiny, while both square mystical Neptune in dreamy Pisces. This connection between the Moon and North Node gives us a greater sense of alignment with our soul’s evolutionary true north, but the square with Neptune in its home sign can bring hypersensitivity, as well as confusion or fogginess. With the all-encompassing energy of Neptune/Pisces, we can feel so connected with everything that we may lack discernment on where the boundaries of dreams and reality actually start or end. Alternatively, this stress may catalyze the opportunity within us to surrender it all, and embrace everything with acceptance, love and compassion, or simply a desire to check out through escapism. The self-deception can be crafty, but so can our ability to create anew from nothing.
On the bright side, these energies can have us access the Higher Dimensions and bridge the spirit and physical worlds, but if we are ungrounded we can loose sight of reality and live in our own fantasies. Remaining focused on details and day to day workings is a great remedy here. Mastering this balance is something of a spiritual art, as we take care not to abandon reality for our spirituality, but ever strive to merge the two.

Authentic Emotional Individualism
Monday, the Moon enters its home sign of emotions, Cancer, enabling us to sink in and reconnect with our own needs. This is while the Sun in Aquarius squares Uranus in Taurus, creating an air of really expressing our own individuality, despite whatever opposition that may bring us.
On Wednesday, we have the Moon opposite Pluto and Venus, creating a polarization between our needs and the needs of others, as well as priming the energy for drama or conflict with intense feelings or individuals. This is also the last Wednesday (Mercury’s day) before its retrograde on Friday, so watch out for some early signs of potential missed or delayed communications, particularly with the Moon quincunx (blindspotting) Mercury.
Full Leo Moon

On Thursday, we have the full Moon in Leo, which both squares Mars in Taurus, and opposes the Sun, Jupiter & Saturn in Aquarius. This will likely illuminate much in the emotional spheres, magnifying any emotional drives. Meanwhile, this also brings more light to both the blessings (Jupiter) and tribulations (Saturn) that are calling us forth into the “far out future” that the increasing Aquarius energies are downloading into our budding, multidimensional consciousness.
This is while we also have the perfecting of two powerful conjunctions between Venus with Pluto and the Sun with Jupiter. Venus and Pluto conjunct brings a great passion and intensity to our relations, and in Capricorn we are likely to be cutting away any excess that doesn’t serve this dynamic. While with the Sun conjunct Jupiter in socially conscious Aquarius, we are paradoxically poised to be friendly and inclusive with those who do resonate with us, so there’s a mixed bag in the potentials of these polarities.
Mercury Retrograde in Aquarius
Friday the Moon in Leo opposes Mercury at 8:52pm, which is by now stationing to retrograde, giving us a powerful pull between our head and our heart, thoughts and feelings and possibly creating an indecisiveness that may become clearer as this all works out over the upcoming weeks.
Saturday, January 30th, at 10:51am, Mercury retrogrades at 26°, 29′ of Aquarius, while the Moon approaches a trine to Uranus, creating an energetic potential for authentic self-expression between our feelings and unique ideas. This energy that opens the retrograde cycle will set the tone ahead to include these themes, so over these next few weeks it could be best to be honest with yourself about who you are, how you feel, and the unique ways these dynamics are calling to be expressed within you.
Spirituality is in itself an artform, like any skillset has the potential to be. One thing that is certain, is that the Spiritual realms do communicate with and through humanity, but its up for us to be stewards of those transmissions. While our spiritual or idealistic dreams can keep us wanting to stay asleep, they also have the potential to inspire us to awaken. If we spend too much time or energy on either side of too material or too spiritual, we tend to fall flat in the end. When we remain united in head and heart, body and mind, soul and spirit, we are best able to bridge this gap and manifest these ideals as real.

Stillness in the Storm Editor: Why did we post this?
Astrology is an ancient form of psychology coupled with theology, based on the assumption that your life path and personality is influenced by the positions of the stars. In modern times, this ancient school of thought has come under much scrutiny, and rightfully so, given it has been the bastion of charlatans and scam artists. But there appears to be something real at work. Epistemologically, if a body of claimed knowledge provides predicting power, if it’s useful and pragmatic, then it suggests there’s some truth to it. Astrology is also a taxonomy—an arbitrary system of organizing phenomena for ease of use and comprehension in human life. The preceding article discusses astrology, providing food for thought about subtle influences. This information is helpful to contemplate because it is a topic of subtle and holistic connections, which is a topic close to the concept of the Creator and a creation made for a purpose. Additionally, because astrology is difficult to prove objectively, yet provides valid objective descriptions of reality, it is an excellent subject to study to expand one’s thinking and exercises holistic philosophy skills. With the ability to recognize subtle interconnected realities, one has the power to gain much wisdom and even approach Creator-consciousness if one maintains an open mind and a critical discerning eye.
