Russian Library and Brooklyn Warehouse devastated by Fires, on the Exact Same Day

Monday, February 2, 2015 By Julian Robles Leave a Comment

Spread the love

Isn’t it a strange coincidence that roaring fires broke out in two major information centers in two major cities on the SAME DAY! Something certainly seems out of place, this is from the second article on the NY fire:

The FDNY was first called to the CitiStorage facility on N. 11th St. by the East River in Williamsburg about 4:30 a.m. for a small fire in shelving unit, officials said. By the time emergency responders arrived, sprinklers had nearly extinguished the fire, which firefighters fully doused.

But they were called back to the building about 6:25 a.m. and found the warehouse consumed by flames.

So the FDNY was first called to this location and after putting out a fire are called back two hours later to find an enormous blaze? How often does that happen?

This eerily reminds me of the Library of Alexandria. More from Wikipedia:

The Royal Library of Alexandria, or Ancient Library of Alexandria, inAlexandria, Egypt, was one of the largest and most significant libraries of the ancient world…
With collections of works, lecture halls, meeting rooms, and gardens, the library was part of a larger research institution called the Musaeum of Alexandria, where many of the most famous thinkers of the ancient world studied…
The library is famous for having been burned resulting in the loss of many scrolls and books, and has become a symbol of the destruction of cultural knowledge. A few sources differ on who is responsible for the destruction and when it occurred…

Massive blaze devastates Russian library housing unique documents, ancient texts (PHOTOS, VIDEO)Published time: January 31, 2015 01:38

One of Russia’s largest academic libraries, which contains millions of unique historic documents, has gone up in flames in Moscow. A part of the building’s roof collapsed before dozens of fire fighters managed to contain the blaze.

The fire erupted at around 10 pm local time (7 pm GMT) on the third floor of the Academic Institute of Scientific Information on Social Sciences (INION) in Moscow. According to the Emergency Situations Ministry, some 2,000 square meters were engulfed in flames, prompting the roof to cave in.

According to preliminary data, the cause of the fire could be a malfunction of the electrical system, a law-enforcement source told RIA Novosti news agency. “A short circuit in the electrical system is currently being regarded as a primary lead,” he said Saturday.

A total of 147 rescue workers and 38 pieces of fire-fighting equipment were used to contain the fire shortly after midnight, the ministry said.

No one was killed in the ferocious inferno, and the air quality around the site is within acceptable limits, officials said.

With 49,000 readers and 330 employees, INION is the largest research center in Russia in the fields of social sciences and humanities. Its collection consists of 14.2 million texts in both ancient and modern European and Asian languages, including rare 400-year-old editions. What’s more, it has one of the biggest collections of books in Slavic languages in the country.

The library, founded in 1918, also can boast the Russia’s most complete collection of documents of the League of Nations, the UN, and UNESCO, as well as parliamentarian reports of the United States (since 1789), the UK (since 1803), Italy (since 1897), and many others.

INION has 874 partners in 69 countries of the world, and participates in international book-exchange programs. It is a member of the International Federation of Library Associations.

Fire rips through Brooklyn warehouse Saturday, burning city and state recordsPublished: Saturday, January 31, 2015, 10:03 AM

The fire started just before 6:30 a.m. at the Williamsburg warehouse near the East River. Firefighters spent more than eight hours trying to get the flames under control, which were fueled by four million boxes of records, including records for the city’s public hospitals, New York State courts and the Administration for Children’s Services.

Firefighters were battling a stubborn seven-alarm inferno that ripped through a Brooklyn waterfront warehouse Saturday afternoon, fueled by mountains of records from city agencies.

Eight hours later, more than 200 firefighters were still trying to bring the blaze under control.

Fire roared through the roof of the warehouse and smoke plumes could be seen from throughout the city and beyond.

CitiStorage stores some 4 million boxes of records at the Williamsburg warehouse and in Jersey City, according to its website, and is the exclusive supplier of records management services for the city’s public hospitals.

The company also stores records for the Administration for Children’s Services and for New York State courts.

Singed records could be seen blowing in the wind and were turning up blocks away.

A Health and Hospitals Corporation spokesman said the warehouse stored only older medical records.

“As an early adopter of electronic medical records systems, HHC keeps duplicates of vital patient records in electronic form and we do not anticipate this will affect our operations,” spokesman Ian Michaels said in a statement.

Smoke-eaters were pouring water on the fire both from tower ladders and FDNY boats. Heavy winds and temperatures rising only into the 20s were making the job more difficult, officials said.

There were no reported injuries.

The nearby Star Energy oil refinery was evacuated as a precaution, sources said.

What is our mission? Why do we post what we do?

Our mission here is to curate (share) articles and information that we feel is important for the evolution of consciousness. Most of that information is written or produced by other people and organizations, which means it does not represent our views or opinions as managing staff of Stillness in the Storm. Some of the content is written by one of our writers and is clearly marked accordingly. Just because we share a CNN story that speaks badly about the President doesn’t mean we’re promoting anti-POTUS views. We’re reporting on the fact as it was reported, and that this event is important for us to know so we can better contend with the challenges of gaining freedom and prosperity. Similarly, just because we share a pro/anti-[insert issue or topic] content, such as a pro-second amendment piece or an anti-military video doesn’t mean we endorse what is said. Again, information is shared on this site for the purpose of evolving consciousness. In our opinion, consciousness evolves through the process of accumulating knowledge of the truth and contemplating that knowledge to distill wisdom and improve life by discovering and incorporating holistic values. Thus, sharing information from many different sources, with many different perspectives is the best way to maximize evolution. What’s more, the mastery of mind and discernment doesn’t occur in a vacuum, it is much like the immune system, it needs regular exposure to new things to stay healthy and strong.
