Police Officer Helps Homeless Man Struggling to Shave in the Rain

Saturday, September 28, 2019 By Stillness in the Storm Leave a Comment

Spread the love

(Stillness in the Storm Editor) One of the ways the powers that be control the population is by manipulating our sense of reality. This is why most news outlets cover crime and instances of hardship because it paints a bleak picture of the world that causes internal angst, which social engineers know how to manipulate for various purposes.

To dispel this false reality, one needs to be exposed to truths that undermine false core beliefs.

One of these core beliefs is that all people are evil and untrustworthy. Although many don’t consciously hold this belief, it is pushed by the media so pervasively that almost everyone has to contend with it in some fashion.

The following story of a police officer helping a homeless man shave is an example of human kindness and compassion. This exemplifies the high spiritual value of fellowship, that all living things, regardless of their status, are living in the same universe. One of the ultimate truths of existence is that we’re all in this together. And yet, due to the hardships of life and cultural influence, we are led to believe we aren’t together, that were actually alone.

This abandonment belief causes a great deal of suffering in our world. Psychologically, a negative core belief of this sort will act like cancer in your mind. If you fundamentally believe you can’t connect with others in a meaningful way, as many do, then even when you are close to those you value, you won’t feel satisfaction.

Finally, police corruption is a rampant problem. And to be sure, we should be raising awareness about it. But without falling into the trap of antagonism and hate.

Psychologically, only a very small number of people commit acts of harm because they genuinely want to. The vast, vast majority do bad things because they’re in toxic environments that cause their baser instincts to take over. In this way, while we should not give a free pass to corrupt authorities, we should also positively reinforce honorable and good behavior.

Allow yourself to feel the soul healing inspiration that comes from seeing good deeds in the world. We need this to live a happy fulfilling life. Indeed, without taking time to reflect on goodness, our minds become plagued with fear and bitterness. But always, at the core of all things, an infinite well-spring of goodness is at work, slowly changing things for the better, with our participation.

(Amanda Froelich) Since the topic of police brutality became a hot button issue, many officers have gone out of their way to demonstrate that not all cops are bad. In Detroit, Michigan, for instance, an officer was spotted helping a less fortunate man shave during a rain shower.

The heartwarming photo was captured by Jill Metiva Shafer of Saginaw Township, Michigan. When asked why she chose to capture the moment of kindness, she told Good Morning America:

I took the picture because I thought it was such a kind, unselfish thing for an officer to do. With all the negativity that police officers get, I wanted to show them in a positive light.

Shafer explained that she and her family had just arrived for the Detroit Tigers game at the Comerica Park ballpark when it began to rain. That’s when she noticed Officer Jeremy Thomas helping out Stanley Nelson, 62.

“I walked up and I said, ‘Excuse me, sir’ and at that point, he’s like, ‘Ok, ok, I’ll leave and I said, ‘No, do you need some help?’” Thomas told ABC affiliate WXYZ. “And he turned around blindly and said, ‘Yes, thank you. God bless.’”

According to ABC News, Nelson was attempting to shave after receiving a razor and shaving cream as a handout. But, with no mirror, he was struggling. Nelson told WXYZ:

“What he did for me, that was alright. I really appreciate that because I’m going through my thing and I feel bad about myself, but I’m going to be alright.”

“God’s going to bless him for doing that for me,” Nelson added.

The moral of the story is that good people do exist. And sometimes, they might even be police officers. One thing nearly everyone can agree on is that the world would be a much better place if people lended a hand when they witnessed others struggling.

Inspiration is spiritual nourishment that helps regulate mood and maintain personal integrity. The preceding information offers some words or stories of inspiration. With the power of inspiration in hand, all of life’s hardships can be weathered with greater cheer, without the destruction of a positive and constructive outlook on life. A positive attitude is critically important to avoid trauma, lashing out toward others, and making poor health choices. It is also important for building fellowship, unity, and working toward making the world a better place.

What is our mission? Why do we post what we do?

Our mission here is to curate (share) articles and information that we feel is important for the evolution of consciousness. Most of that information is written or produced by other people and organizations, which means it does not represent our views or opinions as managing staff of Stillness in the Storm. Some of the content is written by one of our writers and is clearly marked accordingly. Just because we share a CNN story that speaks badly about the President doesn’t mean we’re promoting anti-POTUS views. We’re reporting on the fact as it was reported, and that this event is important for us to know so we can better contend with the challenges of gaining freedom and prosperity. Similarly, just because we share a pro/anti-[insert issue or topic] content, such as a pro-second amendment piece or an anti-military video doesn’t mean we endorse what is said. Again, information is shared on this site for the purpose of evolving consciousness. In our opinion, consciousness evolves through the process of accumulating knowledge of the truth and contemplating that knowledge to distill wisdom and improve life by discovering and incorporating holistic values. Thus, sharing information from many different sources, with many different perspectives is the best way to maximize evolution. What’s more, the mastery of mind and discernment doesn’t occur in a vacuum, it is much like the immune system, it needs regular exposure to new things to stay healthy and strong. If you have any questions as to our mission or methods please reach out to us at [email protected].
