Spread the love

(Elizabeth DeVille) With New Year’s Eve just around the corner, we’re all starting to look at what we hope to accomplish in the coming year, setting lofty goals and New Year’s resolutions. If you’re looking for a little inspiration and motivation to make your dreams a reality in 2019, we’ve got you covered…

If you’re working on setting your New Year’s resolutions for next week, I’ve got some discouraging news. The odds are against your success, with approximately 80% of resolutions failing before the second week of February. It’s not necessarily that we are setting unattainable goals or that we are somehow incapable of achieving them. However, any journey worth traveling is going to include some challenges, setbacks, and struggles. When these difficult times come, what steps are you taking to keep yourself moving forward?

Don’t forget, your New Year’s resolution is likely a sizable goal. To begin with, it’s going to require stepping out of your comfort zone. After all, if it was easy and comfortable you would have done it already. Furthermore, it may require you to break a bad habit or two, which is never an easy task to take on. You’re asking a lot from yourself, and that’s going to be taxing physically, mentally and emotionally.

Find your ‘why’ and remind yourself of it regularly. Write some positive affirmations and say them daily. Surround yourself with motivational quotes. Whatever it is that works for you, roll with it! Find your motivation and embrace it.

Stillness in the Storm Editor: Why did we post this?

Inspiration is spiritual nourishment that helps regulate mood and maintain personal integrity. The preceding article offers some words of inspiration. With the power of inspiration in hand, all of life’s hardships can be weathered with greater cheer, without the destruction of a positive and constructive outlook on life. A positive attitude is critically important to avoid trauma, lashing out toward others, and making poor health choices. It is also important for building fellowship, unity, and working toward making the world a better place.

What is our mission? Why do we post what we do?

Our mission here is to curate (share) articles and information that we feel is important for the evolution of consciousness. Most of that information is written or produced by other people and organizations, which means it does not represent our views or opinions as managing staff of Stillness in the Storm. Some of the content is written by one of our writers and is clearly marked accordingly. Just because we share a CNN story that speaks badly about the President doesn’t mean we’re promoting anti-POTUS views. We’re reporting on the fact as it was reported, and that this event is important for us to know so we can better contend with the challenges of gaining freedom and prosperity. Similarly, just because we share a pro/anti-[insert issue or topic] content, such as a pro-second amendment piece or an anti-military video doesn’t mean we endorse what is said. Again, information is shared on this site for the purpose of evolving consciousness. In our opinion, consciousness evolves through the process of accumulating knowledge of the truth and contemplating that knowledge to distill wisdom and improve life by discovering and incorporating holistic values. Thus, sharing information from many different sources, with many different perspectives is the best way to maximize evolution. What’s more, the mastery of mind and discernment doesn’t occur in a vacuum, it is much like the immune system, it needs regular exposure to new things to stay healthy and strong. If you have any questions as to our mission or methods please reach out to us at [email protected].
