) Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly shredded “The View” co-host Ana Navarro after she invoked disabled children as a reason to keep abortion legal.by
On Friday Navarro, while speaking on CNN after the Supreme Court ended Roe v. Wade, opined that ending a pregnancy when you know the baby will be disabled was a reason to keep abortion.
“And I am not anybody to tell you what you need to do with your life or with your uterus,” she said. “And because I have a family with a lot of special needs kids. I have a brother who’s 57 and has the mental and motor skills of a 1-year-old.”
“And I know what that means financially, emotionally, physically, for a family,” she said. “And I know not all families can do it. And I have a step-granddaughter who was born with Down syndrome. And you know what? It is very difficult in Florida to get services. It is not as easy as it sounds on paper.”
“And I’ve got another, another step-grandson who is very autistic,” she said. “Who has autism, and it is [inaudible]. And their mothers and people who are in that society, who are in that community will tell you that they’ve considered suicide because that’s how difficult it is to get help. Because that’s how lonely they feel.”
And she said that being a practicing Catholic does not affect her belief that the decision by the court was incorrect.
“I’m Catholic inside the church,” she said. “I’m Catholic when it comes to me. But there’s a lot of Americans who are not Catholic, and are not Christian, and are not Baptist. And you have no damn right to tell them what they should do with their bodies. Nobody does.”
CNN commentator uses her disabled brother & step granddaughter who has Down syndrome as examples of why we need abortion.

On Monday, during her Sirius XM “The Megyn Kelly Show,” the former Fox News host tore into Navarro.
“It’s absolutely disgusting,” the host said. “I too, I have a nephew who’s significantly autistic and he’s amazing. And it has been challenging for his parents. But they put the work in to try to help him with the issues that he’s struggled with.”
“He’s awesome,” she said. “And the suggestion that a better alternative would’ve been to abort him because their life would’ve been easier suggests that she [Navarro] has absolutely no understanding of love. And how it works. And the gift of a child, challenged or not.”
And she was not the only one. This weekend her fellow CNN contributor S.E. Cupp shredded her on Twitter.
“It’s taken me a minute to decide whether I wanted to share this. But ultimately, I felt like I had to,” she said to start a thread. “You made an argument that one of the reasons you were pro-choice was because you knew children with special needs, in your family. So do I.”
“You said you have a step-grand daughter with Down’s syndrome, and a ‘step-grandson who is very autistic.’ And that ‘there are mothers and people who are in that society or in that community will tell you they’ve considered suicide because that’s how difficult it is to get help,’” the CNN contributor said.

“I have an autistic child,” she said. “I have never met a parent of an autistic child or any parent of a special needs child who said they’d wished they’d aborted him or her.”
“These children face enough stigmas and challenges,” she said. “Please don’t use our incredible, special, wonderful, super-hero kids to make political arguments, especially about the benefits of abortion.”

Make the argument that you don’t want to have a kid. Don’t make the argument that you don’t want to have a KIND of kid that we HAVE AND LOVE. ❤️

“But don’t even for a second make it about our special needs kids. NOT EVEN ONE SECOND,” she argued.
