(Just the News staff) George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley says the recent call to have Justice Clarence Thomas removed from the Supreme Court over his wife’s views on 2020 election fraud and the Jan. 6 Capitol riot reflects the left’s “raging impeachment addiction.”
by Just the News staff, March 28th, 2022
Turley’s comment follows revelations about texts by Thomas’ wife, Ginnie Thomas, sent to Trump White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows on the issues.
“The calls for Justice Thomas’ impeachment are entirely disconnected from any constitutional or logical foundation,” Turley tweeted Sunday. “Rather, the Thomas controversy shows how the impeachment mantra has become a raging impeachment addiction.”
Turley’s comment were reported in a story by the Daily Wire that cites one elected official, Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar, calling for Thomas, appointed to the high court by GOP President George H. W. Bush, to be impeached.
“Clarence Thomas needs to be impeached,” Omar tweeted Thursday.
However, Wyoming Sen. Ron Wydon, a fellow Democrat, said Friday the judge should recuse him from any cases related to Jan. 6 and the 2024 election should former President Trump seek reelection.
The Democrat-led House twice impeached Trump.
Turley, who served as a witness in the first Trump impeachment trial, argued the push to impeach Thomas was indicative of a culture enamored with impeachment rather than justice.
“No, Justice Thomas did not commit an impeachable offense,” he recently wrote. “The calls for his impeachment are entirely disconnected from any constitutional or logical foundation. Rather, the Thomas controversy shows how the impeachment mantra has become a raging impeachment addiction.”

Yes, heaven forbid America should have two African Americans on the Supreme Court at the same time… Even though they both have Caucasian spouses. LOL
