() Former President Donald Trump appeared again to signal a 2024 White House bid on Saturday but he will most likely do so without his first running mate, former Vice President Mike Pence.

That was the vide he gave off at the first “History Tour” event with former top Fox News host Bill O’Reilly, which took place in Sunrise, Fla.
So, who is Trump leaning towards? He indicated that current Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis could definitely make the cut.
“I think Ron would be good,” Trump said.

Trump was pretty clear former Vice President Mike Pence has likely cost himself a spot on a potential Trump 2024 ticket with his declining to contest the 2020 presidential election.
“I think Mike has been very hurt by what took place with respect to Jan. 6,” Trump told O’Reilly and the crowd. “I think he’s been mortally wounded, frankly, because I see the reaction he’s getting from people.
“They say: ‘Why didn’t he just hand it back to the legislatures? Why didn’t he do it?’” Trump continued. “I think Mike would be tough.”
“I don’t love this question, because there are a lot of them,” Trump added. “There are a lot of people.”
Trump did mention Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., the lone Black Republican senator, as a candidate, after reports he had visited Mar-a-Lago for meetings with Trump this fall.
“You have many, you know, they have been in the news all the time,” Trump continued. “Should it be a woman? Should it be – I’ll tell you somebody who’s great is Tim Scott. A lot people love Tim Scott. He’s great, a great person.
“But I think we have a lot of people. I’m not going to get into it exactly.”
Regarding Pence, an April report claimed that he and Trump were talking more frequently following the Jan. 6 riot, which Trump has been blamed for inciting y RINOs and leftist Democrats.
According to retired Army Lt. General Keith Kellogg, the the National Security Council chief of staff under Trump and National Security adviser to Pence, he also said he believes the two man can repair their relationship.
“Absolutely. I really do,” Kellogg told the “John Solomon Reports” podcast.
“They’re talking together. I know the president called him when he had his operation just recently on the pacemaker. And I know they’re talking,” Kellogg noted.
“When I used to be in the Oval with both of them, I just loved being with both of them,” he said.
“There was good banter going back and forth. And you know, and when they would talk privately, I mean, the vice president would say, ‘Give me the room,’ which means ‘leave,’ and we would get up and leave the Oval, and then he and the president would talk out there,” he said.
“And I think they were an incredible team together going forward,” Kellogg added.
At the time, Trump also hinted that he could choose DeSantis as a running mate in 2024.
“I endorsed Ron and after I endorsed him he took off like a rocketship,” Trump told Fox Business. “He’s done a great job as governor. I’m saying what I read and what you read, they love that ticket. Certainly, Ron would be considered. He’s a great guy.”
Still, Pence may be making moves to run for the Oval Office himself come 2024.
While other potential GOP candidates have remained tight-lipped about their intentions, Pence has been ramping up visits to early primary states, such as New Hampshire, he noted in a Christian Broadcasting Network interview.

New Hampshire has conducted America’s earliest primary since 1920, so aspiring politicians flock to the tiny northeastern state every presidential cycle. Pence’s upcoming visit has some convinced that Pence has his eyes on a 2024 presidential bid.
Pence also spoke about what happened at the U.S. Capitol on January 6th.
“On January 6th, I said that I believe there were irregularities about which I was concerned, and I wanted them to have a fair hearing before the Congress,” Pence said.
“But from the founding of this nation forward, it’s been well established that elections are to be governed at the state level and that the only role that Congress has is to open and count the electoral votes that are submitted by states across the country. No more no less than that,” he added.
