It should come as no surprise that Chicago Democrat Mayor Lori Lightfoot is hell-bent on forcing city employees to relinquish their bodily autonomy and take the Covid jab. A leftist that isn’t power-hungry and trying to jam their will down the throats of their “subjects” would be the real news story.

Ms. Lightfoot, like every other elected Democrat, rules by decree with full expectations that her commands will be followed. So it must have come as a shock, preferably a stinging slap to the face sort of shock, when the Chicago Fraternal Order of Police president responded to her order with “Hell No!”

Fox News reports: After Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot said all city employees would “absolutely” be required to be vaccinated, the leading police union vowed to take action in court against [the requirement] if such mandate is announced.

“We are 100% against mandated vaccines for our members,” Chicago Fraternal Order of Police president John Catanzara, whose union represents rank-and-file police officers, said in a statement to Fox 32.

“This vaccine has no studies for long-term side effects or consequences. None,” he continued in a similar statement to the Chicago Sun Times on Tuesday. “To mandate anybody to get that vaccine, without that data as a baseline, amongst other issues, is a ‘Hell, no’ for us.”

Negotiations about the specifics of a vaccine mandate are ongoing with several unions, and Lightfoot has not announced when such requirement for some 33,000 city employees would take effect.

Chicago Police aren’t the only ones fighting back:

If enough Americans would just say NO to the unconstitutional demands and mandates for these untested vaccinations, Democrats would have to back down, they can’t arrest us all!
